We had a takeaway meal (during Covid lockdown) for Valentine's Day and it was great - the food itself was excellent, very well packaged and presented, and the pickup service was very easy. We also had a couple of negronis which came in a kind...of bubble-wrap package! Would highly recommend and definitely the next best thing to visiting the restaurant.More

West restaurant is worth a detour! Lovely freshly prepared food! We had dinner in West twice during our stay, and will return again on our next visit to Barna. There is a lovely atmosphere in this restaurant, which is not decorated in typical hotel style,...but has its own unique decor that really works well. There are several different sections, so it would be suitable for a romantic dinner, family dinner or business dinner. The food is gorgeous! The Turbot I had on the first night was just lovely, and cooked to perfection, and a generous portion. My husband had John Dory equally nice. However we both agreed that the Cote de Boeuf, served on a wooden platter will be our first choice when we return, so please keep it on the menu!More

Best restaurant I've been to. Starters were amazing - tasted the ravioli, rabbit and the mussles. The main course had to be Cote De Bouef. Sensational. However, my partner thought it was a bit fatty but the taste was great - didn't think the dessert...lived up to the high standards of the prior courses. Wine was beautiful & would definitely recommend getting the sommeliers recommendations. Breakfast was great. Had a rabbit dish& a duck dish. FantasticMore

The food in the West restaurant was outstanding!. We had dinner 2 nights as part of a staycation package and we were blown away. I thought first maybe TOO fancy (interesting ingredients , unusual combinations), but all our dishes, starters, mains and desserts were to...die for! Mouth watering and just very tasty. Even down to the veg sides. Lots of local ingredients which is always good to see on a menu. Special mention to the brisket starter. And the Aran goats cheese Raviolo and cauliflower veloute starter too . Mains were amazing too... For desserts our favourite was the chocolate one. VERY choclaty, but still light enough..As well as quirky amouse boches and great bread and home made butter. Service was also very good. Unobtrusive, but attentive. (Apprteciated the consideration shown to my friends lack of ability to get a menu up on her phone! ) Our only quibble was the vegeterian main course. We thought it would have been served on sourdough bread (Like a fancy Welsh rarebit). But it wasn't. We got sourdough bread on the side, but that wasn't really the same. But not a major issue..We really enjoyed the hotel, but will definitely come back to the West restaurant in more "normal" times. Keep up the good work! We will survive these terrible times, and when we are able we will be back!More

On my recent visit to the Twelve hotel, we had dinner booked 2 evenings in the West restaurant. We had the taster menu which was absolutely amazing! Fergal attended to us all evening and had so much knowledge about the wines. He made our meal...very enjoyable. The 2nd night we were also booked into West and not one complaint from us, food is outstanding. Such a selection of wines to choose from, it was a most enjoyable experience. Cannot wait to visit again..More

We had the pleasure to dine at WEST on Saturday evening for dinner and even in these difficult time the service was great. Greeted and seated in good time and once ordered beautiful fresh Bread arrived. To start of we enjoy a flavour packed Amuse...Bouche which set the standard for what was to follow. The theatre of the smoking cloche revealing the beef start was wow moment. I chose the cured monk fish, it was a lovely dish but it was my favourite dish. (Just a personal thing). The lamb main course was beautiful. The only comment on the mains is the vegetables could have done with seasoning. Potatoes were very bland. We had a lovely evening and the food was first class. I would recommend West to others and would come back.More

A 5 course tasting menu can sometimes mean taking a leap of faith, especially when you are ordering blind. West was a revelation, I now understand why people rave about oysters, stunningly fresh with a hit of the sea. The langoustine was sweet and delicate...and the dexter beef dish tasted like a 5 star jerky. Service was friendly and attentive and the wine list, well suffice to say it’s award winning for a reason. The lay out of the restaurant means the Covid restrictions are barely noticeable.More

It would be whole but may or may not be on the menu that day depending on catch that day. Price fluctuates. I would recommend the tasting menu which you should book in advance. again that depends on what fresh product is... More
