We found the shop by accident, but so glad we did! We chose the standard melon pan with cream filling. Definitely worth trying :)

I ordered 3 melon bread, one to eat right away and two to bring. They tasted sooo good with the sugar on top, and they were extremely fluffy. It was even still fluffy after a whole day!! It's definitely worth standing in line for this, and I can't wait to the next time I'm going to Japan, for then I... More
Very Tasty melon bread. It's easy to find because that's the most visible item on their display. I only had Melon pan (=bread) but there were many other baked goods that looked yummy. Don't get out of your way to eat here though, there are good bakeries all over Tokyo.
I used google to find this place after seeing it on "Only in Japan"'s review of this place. Having been to Asakusa previously, I didn't know of the secret melon pan attraction so this time I had to find it. Warning: Google Maps is not very reliable at least as far as we tried. Kagetsudo is the bakery shoppe selling the legendary Melon Pan seen on anime & manga. Pricing has great value. The taste, texture, warmth is amazing.
There is nothing special about the melon-pan except the fact that the shop has been there since 1945 and that it's bigger than normal melon-pan. It's a decent bread though, worth a try while on the way to Senso-ji.
This melon pan bun is bigger than usual bun/bread sold outside. They are sold ¥200 per pcs, 3 for ¥500. To reach this store, it is behind Sensoji Temple. You can reach there from one of the rear exits of the temple. No queue when we were there on 2nd December, weekday afternoon. They even have a small corner (at... More
