The customer service is astrocious. Specific instructions for ordering were not given properly and the waiters were extremely uneducated and couldn't even communicate in simple English. We have stated we were foreigners and they still continued speaking to us in Japanese, perhaps they were hoping that we would miraculously understand their language suddenly, but no. Food served was alright but... More

Situated on the 8F of the WaMall. I highly recommend trying this place if you're hungry and looking for a simple grilled beef restaurant. Pros: The waiters understood English. It was also convenient that an English menu was available. The variety of beef was fantastic and was delicious as it is grilled to your liking. It was also a lot... More

You get a lot of meat options and the price is reasonable. You have 90 minutes to order and finish the meal. You'd think the time is short but it's actually more than enough for the meal. This is our 2nd time at Gyu Kaku Shinjuku. It never fails. This time, they have the iPad ordering system. Very convenient.

Not really a meat lover but it was a pretty food place. I think alot of people went for their buffet. I would think it's quite worth the money if you really can eat alot of meat. But I know I cant hence we just select from the ala carte menu. Service was okay as the waitress was quite friendly.... More

Great set menus of beef, chicken and pork and you can add on special wagyu cuts - it was so fatty that it caught on fire. Check out my video at Gyukaku Shinjuku if you want to see https://youtu.be/DAO4XXk2wZ8

Japanese BBQ "yakiniku" is delicious even when it is made in a table with gas grill. At Gyukaku restaurant, it's real charcoal BBQ and the taste is fantastic! It is possible to grill corn, beef tongue, beef, grilled by yourself. Unfortunately inside the restaurants in japan, is still possible to smoke but the smell is almost impossible to eliminate because... More

I couldn't find the gyu-kaku that I was at on trip advisor but I wouldn't think they differ so much! I had to go on here to mention the great service, the superb prices and the delicious food. I'll recommend it to anyone who visits and if I ever go again I'll definitely eat there.

We ordered the jpy3,000 all you can eat package. The quality of meat is ok. With additional bucks you can upgrade to get free flow beverages. The most watering one is chicken with cheese fondue.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
