I thought everything was ok. The service, the Tonkatsu, the tea, the vegetables, the sweet sauce etc. Everything was ok. However, I had very recently also eaten a meal of Tonkatsu in Ginza, and it was slightly better (the pork was juicier) and it was...More

Service, food, everything great even when picking the cheapest meat. Trying aged ones next time. Recommended

Went out of our way to try this place as it had such good reviews on TripAdvisor. Definitely not worth the hassle! It was quite pricey for something that was not as good as the hype! The crumbing was falling apart from the pork which...More

Got a takeaway from here and it was delicious. The katsudon (fried breaded pork served over a bed of rice with egg on top) is my favourite. Meat is succulent and not greasy. Well worth a visit.

Tonkatsu Maisen is legendary for their fried pork cutlet for a good reason! It is incredibly light and crispy on the outside and perfectly juicy on the inside. There are several choices of meat based on quality and amount of fat. The filet is leaner...More

There are 2 menu, one is cheap, one is expansive. Obviously the cheapest one has types of meat at a standard level, but it was good. As a quick lunch or if you don't want to spend a lot for eating tonkatsu, this place is...More

The pork was so 'melt-in-the-mouth' and delicious. Felt like a proper Japanese experience. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Japan.

I got there at 2 pm, but still quite many people lined up. It took us around 30mins waiting for the table. The staff was really nice and spoke good English. The pork cutlet was really nice, crispy outside and tender inside. It's also good...More

Went at lunchtime and there was a long line up but it moved fairly quickly. We sat at the bar and the service was impeccable. Out cold tea was refilled as soon as it appeared empty. The choice of tonkatsu were amazing -all sorts of...More

I never skip here for 28 years whenever I go to Tokyo. Try the best in their menu. My best restaurant in Japan.

Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.

About 10-15min walk from harajuku station. You can take different route to get there, as it's not off the Takeshita dori. I would avoid going that way as it's too crowded- unless you want to tour through Takeshita dori on... More

Actually, Aoyama where this restaurant is, is about 15 or 20 minutes walk from Shibuya station. It's not in a mall or a multi-story building. It's in its own building in what we would call a lane.

Hi Ivy, Apologies for late response, didn't get notified! I can't remember exactly but probably no fish, chicken maybe... :) I think they do have prawn or seafood choices, very limited though.
