The restaurant has only tatami mat seating, so be prepared. After we got through the line (about 45 minutes when we went), we were seated and were treated to a most delicious tonkatsu. The meat was tender and crunchy, but not so soft that it doesn't have any texture. Even though the line was long and we had 8 in... More

The Katsu was just how I liked it: crispy skin on the outside and soft on the inside. With free refills of rice and lettuce as well as a decent-sized katsu, this place will not leave one hungry. The low tables (chabudai) upstairs were an added cultural experience. There is usually a line ( we waited for around half an... More

I had the katsudon and my friends the tonkatsu teishoku. Both were really good, the meat was tender and the battery crispy and crunchy. The place is modest, but clean and nice, and it's quite spacious so big groups can also fit. I'd totally recommend it

Have been to this excellent restaurant several times, often just to take out their amazing mini-sandwiches from the to-go counter outside the restaurant. The bread, tonkatsu and sauce goes together perfectly and is just enough to tide you over to the next meal.

We had s Wonderful launch in here during our stayin in Tokyo. We tried the tonkatsu and also the noodle soup and everything was delicious. Very nice the idea to forbid to use mobil Phone in the restaurant, a hour without Phone surely cannot hurt to anybody. Highly recommended place!!!

Be prepared for some careful reading of the menu which firstly describes the type of pork (about 6 varieties) by ref to breed, diet and area. Then select preparation (mostly snitzel). Bulldog sauces are delicious. Tip if possible share pork and get a side dish (not for sharing). I ordered the 100g size which was plenty and the cabbage can... More

Traditional tonkatsu. Very juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Kind of pricey for just one pork cutlet. I think it was the equivalent of $17 for just one. But it's so filling that you won't be hungry for several hours afterwards. If you're looking for trendy, this isn't the place. The inside is brightly lit, and has... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
