Been quite a while I experienced such a lack of services and such a high priced forgettable good. It the waiters about 30 minutes from taking my order till serving my drink. That's OK for a lower category restaurant but not for a place that...More

The setting is airy and relaxed with trees and a little Japanese water feature nearby. It offsets the fact it is in the middle of the building with no windows. The food choice was good, although beware of the prices for beef dishes (very expensive)....More

After a full day of exploring highlights of Tokyo, we returned to our Japanese home on the 31st floor ready to enjoy some of the many facilities of The Strings by InterContinental. We headed to the Bubbles Bar in the 27 metre high open atrium,...More

Sometimes after a long day you want something easy: a salad, a burger, a bowl of pasta. The menu is too upscale. What I ordered was pricey, and honestly not that well prepared. Staff was largely invisible.

Then I had a Tapa-tizer dinner at the Dining Room. It was surprisingly good! I mean- I'm more the traditional Japanese food or traditional Western meal type of guy that I didn't have much expectation over something in the middle. But my Yōshoku (Western-style Japanese...More

Like the title says, the food is generally good - other than the coffee which is rather blah (but they don't mind charging you US$12 for a poorly made Americano). There are many staff milling about but they're not in a hurry to interact with...More

Have you heard of Tappatizers? No? Me neither until I went to the Dining at the Strings and tried imaginative appetizers that you can sample with a drink as snacks or even as a meal. Nice idea.

Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with
luxury residential buildings and the scene is
constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama
park and Togoshi park are great places to see
beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as
well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a
post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish
old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa
