Hinokizaka is on the 45th (lobby) floor of the Tokyo Ritz Carlton and consists of several concept-oriented "rooms": sushi, tempura and teppanyaki. Views from the sushi bar look out over downtown Tokyo. The other restaurants are in the interior of the restaurant, although there is undedicated window seating as well. Meals here are expensive. However, taste, quality, presentation and service... More

My darling husband planned our trip to Tokyo with a great deal of reading reviews to help us make food and hotel choices. Hinokizaka at the Ritz-Carlton was a magical dinner in the sky. Our server, Emiko (Emi) was gracious, warm and engaging. We felt well taken care of but not hovered over. There are two Prix Fixe dinner options... More

I had a friend visiting that wanted to try teppanyaki for the first time. So I wanted to take him to the best one in Tokyo, in my opinion: Hinokizaka! It is the best one because it is perfect in all important attributes: food, ambient, service, quality and view. (I have already tried Ukai tei, that is also a famous... More

The best thing about this restaurant, besides the stunning views of Tokyo both day and night, is the staff attitude. They have to be the most flexible of all restaurants (including hotel restaurants) I am acquainted with, in Tokyo. Nothing is too much trouble, client service is truly No 1. If I wanted a bottle wine from Azure 45 (their... More

We booked based on the recommendation of the concierge since we were staying here. Mediocre fish. I don't mind the non-communication of sushi chef when eating in Japan but this one seemed like he was just in a hurry to get us out of there and leave. It wasn't bad but wasn't outstanding as you would expect.

We ordered the full dinner, consisting of appetizers, soup, entree and dessert. I loved everything. My wife doesn't like fish very much and didn't enjoy the fish, so I got to have her's as well. The steaks were the most tender and the tastiest that either of us had ever eaten.
