We had some shabu shabu and sukiyaki at Zakuro. The restaurant was simply furnished, nothing to shout about. Service was attentive and good. Quality of the beef good but the portions were tiny. We did order extra plates of beef to supplement. I understand from several Japanese friends that the true wagyu connoisseur eats shabu shabu instead of teppanyaki as... More

One of the best shabu shabu place in town. They have 2 locations in Akasaka but for some reason the one at TBS is better. The meat selections changes daily depending of what's good on the day, the homemade goma sauce was smooth and nicely seasoned. My go to place for shabu shabu in Tokyo.

Super yummy. We had both Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu. Quality was superb. Service was immaculate. However you do need sort of a Japanese speaker or at least you need to know what you wa t to eat and have someone guide you through the food serving. English menus are available.

We dined here last November. Please see my previous 5 star review. Our shabu shabu was once again excellent and the service exceptional. I highly recommend. I have attached some new photos.

Went there with some friends. First of all the food is overpriced based on the quality of the meat, and the sauces (that should be the other important part of this dish), weren't good. I recommend to try it in another place that will be better and cheaper. P.S they were charging us 200USD extra on the check, but weren't... More

Both the Shabu Shabu and the Japanese course are of high quality and the service was superb. I don't eat meat so had the set Japanese meal with fish substituted for the beef usually served. It was reasonably priced and each course tasty and well presented. The miso soup at the end was exceptional.

We came in on a cold rainy night to the warm and friendly ambience of Zakura, and enjoyed 3 orders of the basic beef shabu-shabu with vegetables, enoki mushrooms and rice or noodles included. The waitress explained everything in English to us and took time to explain the sauces. We had the sesame sauce with garlic which was absolutely delicious... More

We had dinner here on a Friday night. This is a high end shabu shabu restaurant. We each ordered the basic shabu set and three appetizers: raw oysters, fried oysters and fried blowfish, also known as fugu. Everything was excellent. There is no need to order the 15000 yen Kobe beef set. The basic set is an excellent value and... More

Have dined here before and doesn't disappoint. The quality as is the ambience and service are all first rate. For the three of us including a couple of beers each cost us JPY 50,000. But if u are looking for first rate Shabu Shabu Zakuro is it.
