Superb variety of kaisen-don (sashimi on rice) in a counter style Tsukiji restaurant. The tuna/uni/ikura on rice is awesome with a side of miso soup and some pickles for breakfast. Not as busy as Sushi Dai or Daiwa Sushi, but the style of food is different. Great Tokyo experience in Tsukiji!

I ended up waiting for 1 hr 45 mins to get into here. It didn't matter what shop you went to - there's always some sort of queue. 1 - They don't speak good English or attempt to. So just tell them the number you want from the menu on the outside of the shop. 2 - Once ushered in,... More

You can not miss the ultimate sashimi experience at Tsukiji market. We picked this place mostly by chance by looking at the menu and the queue. This one is just at the corner next to all other famous eateries and its really tiny, sits around 12 people at the counter. We were waiting for almost an hour. Food was amazing,... More

You can enjoy typical Japanese food "Seafood DONBURI" by reasonable price. But you have to bear joining very long line and really bad service. I can not recommend you to go there as Japanese. I hope you could experience real Japanese hospitality at other restaurant.

I got here at 8:00am February 17th and it was about 30 min wait. The queuing in line was not bad because there was not much wind draft and during rain there was some what of a cover. Also have a vending machine for hot drinks to keep you warm. The service is pretty straight forward. One server will ask... More

Nakaya specialises in kaisen don (raw fish/seafood on top of a bowl of rice). I must say that the seafood was the freshest I have ever tasted! It was quite easy to find the restaurant (once you are inside Tsukiji Fish Market, just look for the restaurant with the longest line!). You'll have to order while you are lining up,... More

Every time I visit Tokyo, I make it a point to visit Nakaya (中家) which serves donburi or a rice bowl topped with sashimi. There is usually a queue of 30 minutes thereabouts but the queue moves pretty quickly, you place your orders before sitting and you're pretty much served once you are seated. Service is very efficient and to... More

Following several magazine and tour guide reviews, we have been trying to get into this place for several years now. FIrst time they saw we had a 2 year old with us and immediately said 'no way' ... 2 years later they had lifted the 'kid ban', as long as each person orders a dish. The line is long and... More
