Excellent good value and charming helpful staff. We go there regularly, it's worth the drive. It's now one of our 'must goes'.

Have eaten here twice, once for lunch and once for a Saturday night. Both visits were excellent. The staff remembered us and gave us a warm welcome on our 2nd visit. Make sure you book for the evening to avoid disappointment.

We have been visiting this restaurant for about 18 years and have always enjoyed the experience. Some reviews here complain of the wait and the staff and I can understand why, however we have always had a good time. This year we learnt that it had changed hands and so were a little concerned that our favorite eating place was... More

During our week's stay in Saint-Chinian we dined at Café de la Paix several times, and on each occasion very much enjoyed the ambiance, kindness of the staff and, of course, the wonderful dishes! The menu is varied, interesting and, above all, the portions are very generous. It may be advisable to share some of the dishes, but otherwise they... More

We had a really great meal, the portions were big and tasty and service was excellent! I have to say the dessert that I chose was spectacular, it was almost a deconstructed lemon meringue pie and one of the nicest I have ever tasted!

Under new management in 2016. Happier looking and more attentive waiting staff than before, and a reorganised service area made the service aspects fine. The terrace is through the cafe behind a fairly bog standard small village cafe. The food is really excellent, good sauces, great deserts, good selection on the reasonably priced menus.

This was a good choice for eating out in St.Chinian with an evening market happening in the square. Passing through the functional bar and further on an inner restaurant, it was magical to sit under the three beautiful old lime trees and enjoy the sensitively lit dining space, thronged with a happy crowd. The sensibly priced menu was honest and... More

Wanted to try something close by as staying up the mountains This looked OK and lots of locals so thought we'd give it a go The staff were not overly friendly although it was fairly late in the lunch period but we were not the last to arrive Our waitress was less than attentive and we had to repeat ourselves... We had a lovely dinner in the beautiful, atmospheric, cosy garden of the café. The personnel is very kind.
