Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a great lunch option in Dunmore East. They have a very expansive menu and everything tastes great. The food is very simple but in a really amazing way. The decor inside could be a bit better but they make up for it with...delicious desserts. Overall a great spot for lunch with the family.More

Previously a lovely restaurant , we went for a special meal on New Year’s Day . However room was Smokey because of wood stove so all the doors were open - it was freezing. Had run out of slow cooked beef so I had steak....It was so tough I could hardly cut it, never mind chew it. We didn’t bother with dessert it was so unpleasant . I told the manager but he just shrugged it off. I won’t be returning - a pity it used to be a great placeMore

A family group of 10 of us went here on a Saturday evening in September. We had heard good reviews but we were all very disappointed. Firstly, we stepped in out of the lovely evening sunshine and were shown to a room with no windows....No view, no natural light and no atmosphere. My mother ordered lasagne from the kids menu as she can't eat a large evening meal. It was no exaggeration to say that it was revolting. We all tried a bit as we could not believe how horrible it was and really she should have sent it back but did not want to make a fuss. We can only assume that on the kids menu the horrible item had lain undiscovered so long because noone listens to kids complaints. The main courses were ok but tiny portions. No vegetables and only one tiny boiled potato per person. When asked about maybe a few more potatoes the waiter said that there was enough on the table. We did not get the impression from the reviews that this was a restaurant for weight watchers but it was a low calorie affair. Bill came to €460 for 10 including 4 children which was a huge amount for such a disappointment of a meal.More

One of the best in Ireland a hidden gem in the sunny south east in the beautiful village of Dunmore East. Myself and my family have been coming to the Lemon Tree for many, many years. The food and the service is always second to...none. Beautiful fresh products combined on a fabulous menu with something for everyone and a fabulous takeaway menu the fabulous fresh baked brown bread is a must. With inside and outside dining there is no where better on a beautiful day and with wonderful friendly staff who just give everything to the customer it make for a wonderful atmosphere and a all round wonderful experience. So if you and you family are visiting the sunny south east make the Lemon Tree top of your list you will be delighted you did.More

Visited with 5 other family members. Staff were lovely. Food delicious. Prob up there with the best fish and chips ever. My husband had reuben sambo and still talking about it. Goats cheese salad amazing and seafood salad fab. Only criticism was the chowder was...lacking in flavour but won't stop us going back really enjoyed it. Nice desserts on offer too.More

This was the best food we have had out in a long time at home or abroad. A lovely, relaxed but popular with locals little spot near the sea that clearly has a fantastic chef or two. We will visit Dunmore East again just to...go there - It was that good.More

We phoned on the off chance there would be a table on a Friday night and there was. Not knowing what to expect we were greeted warmly and seated by a charming young man. The boss then arrived with the menus and the night just...got better & better. The butters with the breads - delicious. The Seafood Chowder - delicious. The Turbot - delicious. The Strawberry Meringue - delicious. In fact the whole evening was just wonderful. Thank youMore

Lunch for a party of 5.one mix up over an order which was rectified quickly by very pleasant staff. Deep battered prawn dish excellent however two dishes from the specials could only be described as execrable. The beautiful John dory fish arrived at the table...cold overcooked sitting on a bed of spinach floating in butter stained water .As two of us had ordered the same dish that left two very dissatisfied diners. It was a quiet Tuesday lunchtime so I can't understand the reason for sending out such unacceptable dishes. I did mention the inadequacy of the food to a very young and inexperienced waiter in a polite fasion as I dislike "shooting the messenger" He in turn politely apologised and that was the last we heard of it.Will I or any of our visitors return? I don't think so.More

Was there for breakfast with my partner - ordered eggs with sourdough and then added bacon. Had brunch there this morning, service and food were both excellent. General atmosphere in the restaurant was easy and relaxed and this is down to the very friendly and very efficient staff. Only suggestion I would make is to update their FB page to let...people know that they are open on BH Monday as we took a chance heading out there. Coffee is excellent and worth a mention! Looking forward to trying their evening menu over the next few weeks.More

So the food was out of this world, the fish so fresh & the flavours awesome. The customer service was exceptional & friendly. Ones glass was always topped up. My only problem was I wanted to eat everything on the menu. So went back the...next day to buy food for my freezer. Talk about a little gem. Looking forward to my return visit. I’d advise you to book as it’s a very busy spot.More

Went here for breakfast with old friends. Coffee to start was strong and just what we needed after a dip in the Dunmore November sea. The fry came along after some time. But the wait was worth it. Served one of the finest fry ups...of all time. It was a delight of locally produced delicacies sausage, pudding, egg. My friend home from Canada 3 weeks later is still raving about the Sausages. Top quality.!More
