We enjoyed a wonderful dinner one evening recently in late August. The dining room was quiet ( on account of restrictions) but service was friendly and pleasant. Our crab claws , John Dory and monkfish dishes were simply and superbly cooked. We look forward to...returning to this establishment.More

Was up for a few nights in greencastle and obviously chose the local seafood restaurant. Some of the food was lovely but the monkfish on curried lentils was not. More like a tin of chopped tomatoes with some lentils and 6 bits of monkfish. Very...disappointing for the price. Then the chocolate brownie was ridiculously bitter and the creme brûlée was burnt. When we got the bill we had been charged for a different Chardonnay which it turned out we had been given in error. This was corrected. Having gave feedback to the waitress about the desserts it was disappointing that nothing was deducted for this as they were less than half eaten. My daughter got two scoops of ice cream and was charged 5.50. The male guy that was in charge who sorted the bill had but got great skills at dealing with this type of feedback and we felt uncomfortable raising about the desserts again etc. The pate starter and joy dory was lovely, as well as kids chicken goujons and chips but not enough to make me recommend.More

Ate extremely well here, best crab claws ever, excellent oysters and really good chips served with the mussels. All top notch. Service was attentive, staff were friendly and what I really liked is that everything came with lemon wedges so you didn't have to go...asking for them!! Lovely atmosphere, delicious food - I couldn't ask for more.More

We had booked two nights in the restaurant. On the first night we were shown to a cold dark table that was sticky i.e. not cleaned oroperly. When we requested a different table wd were told none were available, fair enough. We requested a better...table the following day but were told e could not be guaranteed a table by the window which meant that we could end up with the same table or similar. Where we were sitting was dark and cold with a strong draft fro behind. While the food was good the service was less so. The room was noisy and the servers did not allow for the fact that they were wearing masks which made it difficult to hear. The servers kept on leaning across my wife to serve at a table that was in the middle of the room - dangerous and unecessary. We ordred wine and it was brought to the table already open - not good. As I said the food was good but the attitude of the guy in charge was apalling. At the end of the evening when I complained about the table I wss told in no uncertain terms thatwe could not be guaranteed a window table and asked if we wanted to cancel for the folliwing evening. When I obtained a booking in a bright warm restaurant just up the road I cancelled.More

I ate here with family recently and we had an excellent experience. I had mussels to start, beautifully fresh, and lots of lovely home made bread to mop up the sauce. I went for the turbot special for mains - a little pricey, but worth...every penny! There was also such an interesting wine list it was hard to choose from, and everyone else in my party was just as impressed with their meals. In fact, as we were staying locally and liked it so much, the next night we ordered a bunch of takeaway dishes to share - fresh crab cakes, fish tacos, and crunchy korean fried chicken (delicious!) - everything was amazing and such good value. Extra points for how comfortable we felt dining in (too rare at the minute). There was alcohol gel available throughout, screens at the counter, and the very friendly staff were taking every precaution at the moment, wearing masks and thoroughly cleaning all surfaces when other diners left. Despite being obviously very busy, they still found time to give us loads of great advice for exploring the area. So much so we'll need to come back to do it all - and we'll be sure to come back to Kealys when we do.More

Myself and friends recently had the pleasure of dinning here just over a week ago, and we had a fantastic meal. We had crab cakes which were delicious, Fish Taco's, Plaice Gougons, Crab Claws to name but a few of the dishes. With regards Covid...restrictions, all staff were wearing masks which I am sure isn't pleasant for them when you are rushing around delivering dishes and taking orders. We felt very safe and very well looked after and I can only commend Kealy's for such a delicious meal and excellent service in difficult times. We also just picked from the bar menu which I thought was excellent and great value. Thank you. Can't wait to go back1More

We are extremely disappointed by tonight's experience at Kealy's. We had been looking forward to our visit having booked a couple of weeks ago for 8 adults to dine & having had the restaraunt recommended to us by friends. We had booked Kealy's as our...final night out of our holiday. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation at 8pm. A member of our party entered and was shown the table and bluntly instructed to show the rest of our party the way. We were handed 2 menus to share between the 8 of us. We eventually got the attention of a member of staff to order drinks. We ordered our food and drinks at this point. We received our drinks order after a 30 minute wait, with one drink missing and another incorrect. No apology was offered at this point or when the correct drinks were eventually delivered. We waited a further 20 minutes and sought recent reviews during this time before deciding we had had enough of this terrible experience. We have never left a restaraunt in this manner before and hope to never experience something like this again. In fact, we were more embarrassed leaving than the staff seemed to be. We wish we had checked most recent reviews before getting dressed up & paying for taxis for 8 people to and from this venue. Service was abysmal. There was no apology offered at any stage and we will never be back nor will we recommend anyone visit here anytime soon.More
