Athenry … Awsome

To limit one’s self to reviewing only one aspect of The Old Barracks is to do a disservice to all. The staff, the service, the rooms, the food (in each of the restaurants and the bakery) were on a scale much higher than we’d expected....In addition, the management and their personal attention were beyond what we’ve experienced in other full service facilities. They made our stay exceptionally special. My grandfather was born in Athenry and I am very sure he would be proud of how his family was treated by all.More

Bang on Barracks

My parents live in Athenry and we have visited and enjoyed The Old Barracks on many occasions. This was just as good. We made a reservation for 12 and were pleased that we did, it was packed. We enjoyed goats cheese salad and smoked salmon...salad, both were delicious and very generous portions. We can’t recommend a visit highly enough: fabulous food, great staff and a very reasonable bill. You won’t be disappointed.More

Best salmon salad in Ireland! 😀

We hopped on train in Galway and got off in Athenry and it was fantastic to find this lovely gem of a restaurant. The service was impeccable, location amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. Superb catering service

We used Old Barracks Catering for a family event recently as they had been recommended to us by a neighbour. We can’t praise them enough. From start to finish, it was just seamless. We emailed our booking a few months beforehand, spoke with Scott over...the phone, confirmed our order the week before the event and Brian delivered all the food, piping hot, it was so fresh and amazing presentation. Everything was included; serving spoons, delph, cutlery, napkins & salad dressing. The main courses, desserts and choc drizzle birthday cake were all delicious…thank you!More

Delicious good. Great Service

We were having a party for my baby's first birthday. I emailed the catering side of things and immediately got a reply back from Scott who was extremely helpful .He advised me what dishes to order with the sides and also said collection was an...option. I emailed him my order and got a courtesy call to say he got it. The food was a massive hit at the party . They have such a selection. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. Thanks Scott for such professionalism.More

Great restaurant.

We were staying at the Barracks so had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. It was very busy for dinner but service was very good and we had very good meals. Breakfast was equally as good. Very friendly and welcoming staff and reasonable prices.

Well worth a visit! Town mid townspeople welcoming and wonderful.

Great place, very relaxed and welcoming, lovely food. Highly recommended! We asked at the local shop of Patti and were graciously guided to the Old Barracks - lovely building and bakery and cafe. We were not disappointed with a warm greeting and filling and delicious...meal, served with courtesy and warmth. Cappuccinos were excellent and bakery goods we took away and enjoyed later were second to none. Great value for what we enjoyed and the Irish blessing and gratitude received from the owner was true to the friendliness we’ve experienced in Ireland. Athenry was a fantastic surprise right off of the beaten path !More

Little gem

Really enjoyed our breakfast here! It was very busy but we couldn’t fault the service. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. It was a great find in Athenry and we’d definitely come back!

Super experience great price

A1 top folks

Just after bumping i to these guys in town, literally.. i reversed my car into their van!! and they were so sound, they let me go! absolute gentlemen.

Exceptional restaurant

The food was excellent, the service was fantastic and the staff were really hospitable! The coffee was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant! If I'm ever round that way again, I'll definitely be paying them a visit!

Great food, lively

Excellent food and good service. Nice variety of foods to choose from. Good brownies that we bought to take home. Seemed to be very popular amongst the locals too which is always a good sign. Would definitely recommend to everyone
