We stayed at the hotel la sonrisa and decided to check this spot out. On our arrival we were greeted by the owner, she recommended what to order and it was all perfect. Authentic Italian food and wine. Check it out you won't regret it!

We had read the reviews and really wanted to find this place. Honestly this was without doubt one of the best and friendliest places we have been to on our travels around Italy. The food was outstanding and the owner was wonderful. This was our last night in La Sonrisa and so glad we found it. A real highlight of... More

After reading reviews , we decided to walk from our hotel, La Sonrise to this restaurant. We walked into an empty restaurant, unsure what to expect. Read great reviews, we thought they were closed, or was a different restaurant completely. We were very well welcomed into Maria's restaurant and made to fell so welcome. Neither of us knew much Italian,... More

So lucky that this restaurant is so near the Hotel Sonrisa. We had dinner here every night. All the food and wine seems to be provided by a cousin, so all very local and authentic. Maria has probably never read a cook book but just learnt from experience of her family with is vast. We loved it and all the... More

We were staying at La Sonrisa hotel across the road from this resturant and had been a little disappointed by the dinner fare there so we headed down the end of the drive, crossed the street and wandered into this place...we ate there every night for the rest of our stay! It was perfect for a family with four rambunctious... More

So friendly we felt immediately at home. You do have to look for it and don't go before 8 or 8:30, you won't find it. My 17 year old son would have been happy to eat here night after night - so good! Her home made limoncello was the best too!

We came to Il Cuciniere on a Monday evening. We are a family of 5 and as we entered the restaurant the owners were kind and accomodated the food to our wishes. All the dishes were excellent especially the ones with the Buffulo Muzarella. We enjoyed our dinner very much

This is the restaurant you hope to find on holiday but so rarely do. We were staying across the road at La Sonrisa and came here both nights. Our Italian is limited, as was our charming host's English, but with her help we managed to eat some fantastic, authentic and very reasonably priced food. We had delicious antipasto of grilled... A delightful, informal, family run restaurant with a simple, unpretentious menu of delicious home made Italian food at very reasonable prices and a friendly atmosphere. It's easy to miss this restaurant which has only a hand written sandwich board outside. It is on Via Stabia about 20 yards down from Grand Hotel La Sonrisa, on the opposite side of the... More
