Stopped in over the weekend and sat in the beer garden enjoying the spring sunshine, we all had a roast which was second to none, absolutely beautiful! Not sure whether the last review of this place is actually about this pub as there are three real ales on the bar and the landlady said they change regularly! Anyway, well worth... More

Clean and well upholstered interior. No real ales on tap, just a couple of standard keg bitters. Food looked reasonable but didn't stay because of the choice of beers.

Went out to dinner with my family last Friday and it was great to see new management. The two ladies were so friendly and welcoming and created such a great atmosphere. The food has improved since I last visited in December and the cleanliness! I had fish and chips and it was all homemade and delicious. Great prices too! So... More

Popped in on the off chance - new management apparently and we were give a lovely friendly welcome We were the only eaters in the restaurant but the place as comfortable and cheerful. The Tempura Prawns were superb - large, crisp and fresh - not dried out as sometimes happens. I sampled the liver, bacon & onions and the liver... More

Thank heavens this beautiful pub has now got new owners! Everything is just lovely, it's clean and friendly, flowers on tables and in the ladies loo. There is the most lovely wood burner in the main bar which adds to the cozy atmosphere. The new people are both called Kate which helps after a few pints of real ale! Three... More

On our way for a spot of lunch at the upwey wishing well, we changed our minds at the last minute. Thought we'd give the 'ship Inn' at upwey a whirl but wished we hadn't bothered. We are not fussy but on receiving our ham salad sandwiches were extremely dissapointed. No butter on the bread and the salad was lettuce!!!!!... More

17th Century village inn serving great beers and home cooked food. Set in the beautiful village of Upwey, the pub is steeped in history and features in Thomas Hardy's novel 'Under the greenwood tree'. we have a lovely beer garden with views stretching over to Weymouth. we have a large skittle alley that can be used for functions and a lovely restaurant which can seat up to 45 people, which also features cozy private dining areas and secluded nooks and crannies. We cater for all occasions and have darts and skittles facilities.
