We had traditional Slovak food while we were here. Beef soup, walnut sulance and bryndzove halusky. Food was amazing, very nicely presented, portion was almost to big to eat also. We also tried their own alcohol called "strachanovica" that went down very well too. :)...Staff was very friendly and helpful. And they also have little kids room.More

I've eaten at Strachanovka three times over the last five years, literally every time I've been to Liptovsky Jan (and the only place I now choose to go to there). There is a good reason I am a faithful, repeat customer: It is unusual for...a restaurant to use real, good quality bryndza. Price and location are usually no indication of how pure the bryndza is, or if the restaurant mixes it with cream or not. Strachanovka uses only the real thing! Apparently everything else they make is delicious and authentic, too, but I am always on a pilgrimage whenever I'm in the area! The portions are also huge, so I've never left without a doggy bag.More

I am very picky about slovak traditional food. We visited this place on two occasions and all of the food for both us and the kids was absolutely delicious - fresh, tasty, visually appealing, simply great.

Last week we went to visit MiniSlovakia in Liptovsky Jan and we stopped at Strachanovka. We were very pleased by the nice and pleasant waiters and good local food. We liked laso the whole complex...and also the animals tehy take care of them.

We visited restaurant Strachanovka on 21-22th September with our company Sodexo CZ&SK (130 people). Interior is very nice, great authentic Slovak kitchen, drinks, free wifi, kindly personal and service. First day we choose dishes from standard menu. Next day restaurant Strachanovka prepared raut - the...best dishes from Slovak cuisine and typical Slovak music (cimbalovka) and dance. I recommend!More

Good halusky -dumplings, nice music and wood house equipment. Personal was quick and kindly. Best restaurant around liptovsky mikulas area.

We have enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at Strachanovka. The service was excellent - quick and unobtrusive, we tried several meat dishes and deserts. The food was fresh and tasty and the environment pleasant and cosy. No loud music and a lovely outside seating area.

Strachanovka bola nasou oblubenou restauraciou v Janskej doline ale pristup personalu to velmi rychlo zmenil. Raz nam casnicka odvrkla 'von neobsluhujem' tak sme si povedali ze asi bola len v zlej nalade a ze dame strachanovke druhu sancu. Chceli sme si rezervovat stol pre 7...ludi a slecna po telefone nam oznamila ze v ziadnom pripade. Ked sme sa pytali aky je dovod povedala 'o tom sa s vami bavit nebudem' a zlozila. Odporucam Liptovsku izbu v centre mesta kde je velmi mily personal ktory poradi, pomoze a ked je nejaky problem vie sa spravat profesionalne a milo. Strachanovka was one of our favourite spots to go for lunch or dinner but it recently changed with the customer service provided. We went there few weeks ago and when we were sitting down the waitress abruptly told us 'im not waiting on you outside!". we though ok she is in the bad mood it happens and we gave them second chance. Just today we wanted to reserve a table for 7 people and the lady on the phone again very abruptly told us 'we dont do reservations' and when asked for the reason she said 'im not going to discuss this with you'. You are better off going to Liptovska Izba in the town centre where the staff is very proffessionall.More

We came for quick lunch and because of sunny weather stayed outside. Service was quick. We had traditional slovak meals. I found interesting that thay use wooden plates to serve meals. All meals tasty and for reasonable price. Good place to eat.
