We were so glad we'd come across this place in the Michelin guide. The service and food was exquisite. Well worth a visit.

This is far from what we usually think of as bistro fare which is steak frites and the like. There are only two choices for each gourmet course but both were very good. They change frequently. The place is small with interesting decorative touches. Service was great.

Always a big favourite, the Bistro de la Tour still delivers. The menu is limited - generally there is a meat option and a fish option for mains each day - and is based on local ingredients. Perfect bistro decor and ambience. Discreet, attentive, friendly service. An extensive wine-list. Most importantly, however, the dishes are simply beautifully conceived and executed.... More

We ate lunch here on 19th August. To be honest Quimperle doesn't have a huge range of choice when it comes to good places to eat but immediately this place stood out as classy with proper linen etc. We ate outside because we had our dog with us. A fairly limited menu but probably the better for that as everything... More

A late review, but better late than never!! I visited this restaurant in August as a 'last night of our holiday' treat with friends....and what a treat it was! The very limited menu meant that there was no question that everything was superbly fresh and local. The staff were wonderfully welcoming, the atmosphere so delightful that we didn't want to... A classic, fine dining, bistro style resaurant. The maincourses were in effect, fish of the day or meat of the day, so we were initially a little disappointed, but the perusing the hugely extensive, typically French, wine list, we were consoled somewhat (37 different Chablis) then the food arrived, starters were sublime, and the mains, simply superb. Followed by desert... More

The food : no other word than amazing. We started by a classic but very tasty foie gras. I then choose the fish (Sole) : it was perfectly cooked and the bouillon was sublime . And what about the dessert an incredible 'BlancMangé' with a mint sorbet. One of the best desert I ever had. The Wine : we chose... More

Every year we spend a week eating our way around Brittany and the Loire Valley. This year's highlight was our meal at Le Bistro de la Tour. Each course was delicious and the staff were really helpful in explaining each dish to us in English. We had a tasty crab starter, followed by a hake main course and a praline... More

My wife and I like this restaurant so much that we held our wedding feast there. We even restricted the number of people who could attend the wedding so that we could fit the guests into Bistro de la Tour. Now half our family aren't speaking to us as a result, but the carpaccio of scallops with pistachios is worth... More

Sorry to be so late with this review. Having read the recent comments of others I feel sure that standards have not declined. We dined at Le Bistro de la Tour in May of 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. It is not a budget restaurant, but the atmosphere, presentation and quality of the food and wine were well... More
