Lunch with a friend - went for the beetroot goats cheese starter and a risotto special. Really tasty lunch with very good wine by the glass. My first here but definitely will return.

Me and my partner attended this restaurant for his birthday last week. We were met with exceptional staff who tended to our every need including a very bubbly atmosphere amongst the restaurant. The menu was full of variety including really creative cocktails which was one...of the highlights of my night. I couldn't fault the food it was full of quality and I will absolutely be back again especially for their hot wings!! I asked them to sing happy birthday to my partner with our dessert and they absolutely did not fail. Overall it was a great date night and I would recommendMore

I eat out rarely as I enjoy cooking and can easily be judgemental of restaurant food 😂 From the moment you step in the door of Coal, it’s more than just the food. A lovely warm, friendly dining experience with a wonderful menu and really...delightful food. I had the beetroot quinoa salad, aubergine curry and coal mess - gorgeous food 👌🏼More

I booked table for 4 at Coal on the strength of the great reviews it has received and Coal did nor disappoint. It has a warm and welcoming vibe and friendly staff with an option to eat indoors or outdoors. Really great choices on menu,...plenty of fresh Irish fish (delivered fresh every morning) pasta, steak along with good choice of vegetarian/vegan options. I chose the seafood pasta with a complimentary tomato sauce with delicious garlic bread (best I’ve tasted) and the other fish dishes we ordered were equally delicious and of generous portions and beautifully presented. Helpful advice sought and given on wine selection…we had no room for desert although options looked very tempting! We had a super night and our guests visiting from the UK were very impressed with their fresh Irish fish dishes they ordered and the wine selection. Will definitely return and very happy to add our review of this excellent restaurant. Pricing was appropriate for the quality and quantity received. Many thanks guys for very enjoyable evening!More

On my second visit to Coal I had to write a review. The first visit wasn't a fluke- this place is excellent all around. The food is outstandingly crafted and fresh. The staff give you the impression that they are all there to make the...dining experience a good one. It seemed like everyone working there checked in on us to be sure we were enjoying ourselves and had all we needed. Will surely be back when we are visiting Dublin in the future.More

We had a really lovely evening there last night. As ever, Sebastien was the consummate professional and recommended a lovely white wine. Emma our waitress was really good and friendly too. And the food was great, Collie and his teams cooking is superb, the halibut...special was excellent and the cajun chicken I had really tasty, the sauce very good. Starters of wings, chicken liver pate and salt/chilli prawns all really good too. If you're in the vicinity and fancy a good meal/drink, try this place.More

We had dinner there last night and it was excellent. My other half started with the chilli prawns and I had the scallops with black pudding, both really tasty. For mains, she had the seabass special and I'd the confit duck leg with potato cake....Both had been cooked superbly, so good. The portion sizes are just right, you don't feel too stuffed when you leave. Sebastien, the Maitre D recommended a lovely Argentinian Malbec for us, he does a great job front of house, always very welcoming. And Collie and the chefs really know how to produce top notch food. We've already booked in for a family dinner pre Xmas. My advice is go there!More

Just left after one of the best meals had in a long time. I had the teeling wing with the amazing coke and lime dip witch I nearly licked my wife had the special scallops and BLK pudding she nearly didn't speak while eating so...must have pretty good. For main I had a steak that was cooked perfect mr lovely gratin potatoes and crispy onion rings she had the seabass that looked as good as it tasted. For dessert I had the ice cream that was absolutely Divine. If had to fault the only thing would be the back round music that's just being picky . Will definitely be backMore
