Been a customer to this restaurant every year since I first discovered it about 6 years ago when it was ranked #1 at Trip Advisor. They still hold their standards high and the grilled octopus was tender as aways. The chicken souvlaki was also perfectly...cooked and the plates balanced.
Price might be a tad higher than competition but the plate size is generous! The finL raki and dessert was very good - honey raki and a delicious cake worthy a dessert menu at its own.
An extra plus for the excellent bread as a starter, they use the pizza oven to the max.
Highly recommended if you fancy traditional Greek food!More
The list of Cretan taverns and restaurants is very long but only few cook and serve real authentic tasty Greek food like Olivi Restaurant in Agia Marina on the Chania coast.
Babbys who is the owner has a simple yet essential philosophy. Everything must be...homemade and tasty, and all guests must feel welcome. My family and I have been there quite a few times and have truly felt welcome by the warmth of Babbys and his staff.
I grew up with a Greek father who taught me what a high quality Greek meal should be like. In my opinion Olivi Restaurant is a genuine oasis if you want to experience authentic Greek food and authentic Greek hospitality. I dare to say you won't be disappointed if you decide to go there. Babbys and his staff will take good care of you and spoil you beyond imagination.More
This is the place to eat if you want the best food in Krete. The portions are big and the quality and standard of all is perfection. The staff is the best it's like it's your family you feel really welcome.
Came here in September 2020, our accommodation was nearby in the Dias Hotel so the restaurants in this area were always favourites. The Olivi was no exception the food was brilliant and the staff so friendly and courtious. We will definately visit this place again...in the near future. Loved the area.More
Had a lovely evening here and worth the walk of the main street to a secluded square with several restaurants. Previous reviews mentioned large portions and they were not wrong. Again the wife started with a fish dish, her way of not having to share,...but the large dish of shrimps in a cheese and tomato sauce was more than she expected however reliably informed it was bloody lovely! My six garlic mushrooms with garlic butter again more than enough to share but as she was being selfish with fish I ate them all myself! Again she opted for fish for main a lovely swordfish fillet with rice onions potatoes etc, eyes to big for her belly but again informed " mmmm that's good".
I was promised the best rib eye steak I would find on the island! When half a cow and assorted allotments of veg peppers onions arrived I thought I might have to phone friends to come and help me! In fairness it was a superb steak and sacrificing the veg I guarded my loins and set about clearing my bread board it was served on or should I say 6x4 plasterboard!
It was excellent.
Having asked for the bill and waved a white flag of surrender we were then presented with a complimentary fudge Brownie with vanilla and chocolate ice-cream plus flavoured raki!
I have to say we really enjoyed the food which was excellent eventhough what we couldn't eat may have supplied a food bank for a couple of days!
Well worth a visit, staff great, atmosphere great and you won't leave wanting more!More
The Greek salad, the garlic bread with feta and tomato cooked fresh in a wood oven are 10/10 and excellent value for money. I came here for lunch and it was pretty empty, but I think that’s more of a COVID thing as this place...was beautiful and had exceptional service and is in a wonderful setting. The owner/manager was chopping an enormous piece of tasty looking lamb on the counter, which i’d love to go back and try as this is a serious Greek restaurant. Would recommend highly.More
