HiJason,we're delighted that you enjoyed your visit with us recently, I will extend your appreciation to our chef and staff. We look forward to welcoming you again sometime in the future and hopefully your experience will be once again a pleasure. Regards James.
We had a small gathering and ordered a cold platter buffet from Gallahues that we could serve at home. They could not have done more for us. The breads/rolls, salads and meats were delicious and beautifully presented. There was more than enough for everyone and...there was a great variety of salads to suit everyone. Ger, the chef, was really helpful and guided us on what to order. James, Selina and Denis helped load it into the car with us. They were all so helpful. Well done all and thanks for a job well done.More

We were traveling with a large group and passing through Ballylanders when we decided to stop at Gallahue’s Pub for lunch. So glad we made the stop. Not only were the staff warm and welcoming, but the food was delicious! Home made turkey, delicious lamb,...fresh vegetables, a cold pint and the best potatoes in all of Ireland! We all left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. No such thing as strangers at Gallahue’s Pub, just friends who have never met!More

I would like to say thanks very much to james, Ger and the rest of the team for the lovely food that we had for my son's confirmation. It was beautiful.
We stopped here after looking at reviews and I’m glad we did. We were hungry since we just flew in and this town was along the way. The food was incredible. Large portions, great choices. We had the chicken special with a carbonara sauce that...was so good!! Highly recommend stopping here if you need a bite to eat.More
Went here to grab some takeaway dinners during a busy week. They were delicious. I had the chicken Kiev with all the trimmings. It was so tasty and fresh. Will definitely be calling there again . Well worth a visit!!
We travelled to Ireland to visit Gallahue's in Ballylanders and found the hosts to be very accommodating and the food and service excellent. It was a great day with singing and music.
Staying close-by in motorhome as it was a nice day walked in to ballylanders, looked down the high street and decided that's the pub for me with the A board outside listing a food available inside.
As a mainly pub customer, I find it clean, well-run and a generally friendly atmosphere. From the restaurant viewpoint, i have only eaten breakfast, which was fine. Lunches look wholesome and I have heard of no complaints.
Its with regrets we write this fairly negative review, firstly we have visited many times in the past when it was ran by guy James, we thought he was family but learned from locals since that he isn't, nevertheless he was good business person friendly...etc. We thought pub is gone dirty ,toilets etc, we were served by friendly young bar man but he spent the entire duration of our visit on his phone, he chatted to his own friends who didn't appear to be spending any money! Not good business at allMore
I visited Gallahue's with my family after being at ballylanders cemetery! There was a large group of us which we were well catered for, the carvery was on, I had the bacon and cabbage as did others, can honestly say it's the best I've had...and the bacon was amazing. They had everything from sausage and chips for kids too. A lovely pub with character, the staff were very friendly. And everytime we are down at the Slattery grave we'll be in to Gallahue's after for sure! I highly recommend it.More
A recent visit to Gallahues while staying close by for a bereavement in the family. We met with James on few occasions and he is clearly the backbone of the business Between phone calls and other helpful points he could not have been better. Food...and everything was excellent I would recommend to other visitorsMore
My Fiancée and I recently celebrated our 30th birthday party at Gallahues bar in Ballylanders. We must say that the barman Danny handled our requirements with a very professional attitude. Nothing was a problem for him and they provided music and food for us. Overall...we enjoyed our celebrations and will be returning for future celebrations. Top class venue all aroundMore

we were staying in nearby Kilfinane and decided to go a few kms away to Ballylanders to see what it was like. we arrived and had a drink in a wee pub and we decided we were hungry. we went to a bar next door..."Gallahues" there was a big group at the bar counter of mixed age but predominantly younger punters. we had no problem with that two Guys one older and one younger were on duty. we asked for food but were told by the older lad it was finished, ok it was 7pm possibly! but instead he told us he would give us free food?? that was fine we ordered our 3 pints the two lads continued talking to the locals and we thought whats happening! to our amazement a few mins later everyone was pizza slices and chips so we were delighted. when the bar quitened off the two lads chatted away to us also so very nice to see..as we said no strangers here only friends. lads from Chester thanks boysMore
