A party of eight of us went to Lockslane to celebrate a birthday. Actually, we had to go a day before the birthday, because the restaurant was fully booked on the day itself and this was the restaurant we really wanted to go to. In...More

We recently enjoyed a fabulous meal at this excellent restaurant. It's style and presentation has obtained a wonderful reputation which is fully justified. We, together with another couple had the unfortunate situation of not being able to organise a taxi to get us back to...More

A superb bistro-style restaurant. The food is well-prepared and well-presented. Portions are ample. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient.

My partner and I visited on a Thursday evening and had a great meal. The highlights were the service and the commitment of the owners to provide good quality, great tasting, locally sourced food.

So pleased we managed to get into Lockslane at our second attempt. It's quite small so essential to book. Small, but by no means claustrophobic, with a great ambience. An imaginative menu superbly prepared and presented.

We visited this restaurant with friends who had been several times and we had a very enjoyable evening. The restaurant is small and cosy with a friendly atmosphere and lovely food. We all chose different things from the menu and the presentation and quality of...More

We went for dinner with friends who had not been to this restaurant before and they were all hugely impressed. The welcome is friendly, the restaurant not overcrowded and, most important of all, the food is delicious, well presented and varied. Be aware, though, that...More

What a menu, I wanted to try everything, it was an exciting choice, very varied and original. My only complaint is I had to limit myself to 1 starter, 1 mains and 1 dessert. This was easily the best food we have had on the...More

We had a lovely meal here. The starters and mains were beautifully presented and the flavours were stunning. The recommended wine was also very good. We decide to share a cheese board for dessert and this was the only area that let the restaurant down....More

I would say no, because it's quite small and intimate, even if the dog is small, it's not suitable for them.

Children over 12 are very welcome at Lockslane, although the bistro does not have a children's menu or offer children's portions.

Hi, It's really down to you. There is no second sitting so the table is yours for the night. It is a relaxed atmosphere and the owners will serve at your pace. I would say min 2 hours, max 3 hours. Enjoy.

Lockslane is an intimate restaurant right in the heart of Bembridge. We source our ingredients from the shops right here in our village and across the Island: vegetables from The Farm Shop, and fresh fish from Captain Stan and Island Foods for meat from Isle of Wight farms. We are intentionally small, concentrating our efforts on providing attentive service and a dynamic menu.We are open from 6.30 In the evening and take last table reservations at 9pm, though you are welcome to stay as long as you want thereafter. Due to our size, we only allow children over the age of 12.
