Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent service and food. Thanks to a local that recommended. We had Irish beef stew and crab cakes. Our first Irish food while visiting Ireland and we were spoiled for the remainder of our trip. Would highly recommend a stop if you are in the...area or passing through like we were.More

I’ll preface this by saying I’m fussy. This means most eating out for me is just putting up with less than great food. Having said that, the food here is easily the best pub food I’ve ever had. In fact, if I got this in...an expensive restaurant I’d be chuffed. If you’re in the area, Vaughans is a no-brainer. If you go once, you’ll definitely be back. Just fantastic.More

Great wedding venue - lovely decor, relaxed casual vibe, great service, good food and a fine bar. Only downside is the available self-catering accommodation offered by Vaughans which is substandard, over-priced and not at all suitable for wedding guests. Rooms at €150 per night were...1-star. Overall the house was musty and the furniture was old-style. Facilities were basic eg no grill-pan and not enough cutlery. Some food was provided for us to cook our own breakfast but it was very limited e.g. no butter, no sugar, no oil, 6 eggs, Aldi bacon, Aldi cereal etc. Only 2 keys were provided for 10 adults. I definitely recommend the wedding venue but be sure to book Accomodation in Ennistymon!More

We often eat at Vaughans and have had lovely meals there.Attended for Nollaig na mban with some friends this year as heard great things from last years event. We were left very underwhelmed,no glass of prosecco on arrival like previous year,no fuss of Nollaig na mban...at all,an 18 birthday party on at the same time and most disappointingly, the tapas menu was poor.None of the food stood out to us,none of us could finish our individual tapas and the portions were huge, for example a huge portion of hummus and 3 measly fritters on the side to dip in to the hunmus.Won't be back for Nollaig na mBanMore

This is a busy spot, but what a gem. We were lucky enough to get in without a booking. It's a house divided into rooms with tables, whilst there is a local Irish band playing trad music whilst you eat. The food was wholesome, delicious,...plentiful and served very fast.More

Good food though a bit pricey. Wine menu the same. Aiming at a restaurant standard but not quite hitting the mark due to layout of the old style (lovely) bar. Tables a bit small and stuck into every available space. Not comfortable. Works better as...a pub than a restaurant in my opinion. Maybe take away some of the smaller tables from the bar area and have a separate area designated for food. A more pleasurable experience for both diners and drinkers.More

We were told about this gem through a family member and stopped along the way to Lahinch. Even the views along the rolling green fields of west Clare are worth the journey. This bar, with restaurant, guest house and wedding venue was recently taken over...and it is clear that a lot of love has been poured into it. The interior is a mix of traditional Irish with classy modern touches. Suitable to all tastes. They offer a lunch and dinner menu as well as daily specials. They also have a pizza corner available for events! We shared the wings and chowder and they were excellent. The staff, particularly to mention Aine, were exceptionally attentive, warm and welcoming. You feel as though you are entering someone’s home sprinkled with traditional Irish 5 star service. We got a tour of the wedding venue and guest rooms they offer and were blown away. An incredible spot and definitely worth visiting if you are in Clare. We can’t wait to return Thanks so much !More

Fabulous food. Food was hot and tasty. Surprised that they severed salsa with fish and chips, however it was the nicest combo I have had in a while. Charming style. Loved that the was some photos of Father Ted. Definitely will return again.

We’ve travelled many pubs on the west coast of Ireland, but this hidden gem tops em all. From the fantastic welcome from the staff and locals, to the amazing food, music and craic, you simply shouldn’t pass this spectacular pub by. The wedding venue also...looked amazing. Will definitely be back xMore
