Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was freezing at two o’clock in the day and when I asked for the heat to be put on I was told it’d take a while as the fire heated the place and it had only been put on. There were two other customers...in the dining area who had their coats on I sent my husband out to get my coat the staff did not look pleased when I put it on. The young woman behind the bar said very loudly to her co-worker to put up a sign that a sliding door was not to be opened ( I had earlier gone out that door to take a video of the view) I thought what points she making?? Surely people can come and go through doors and surely that is no excuse on a winters day in December for the heating to be off. There’s a sign hanging in the bar and the last words on it speak of kindness and courtesy however it was not in evidence as the young bar woman took away our plates as we were about to leave !!!More

Visited midweek and struggled to get a table so book in advance. Menu fairly limited but at least it had a few things different to other pubs in area. Seafood chowder excellent. Spaghetti carbonara also very good though garlic bread(served with it in menu) only...arrived several minutes after we'd all finished eating.More

We have been visiting this area for many years and have eaten here on numerous occasions. It is one place we really look forward too. Especially the sausage and mash dish, which was fantastic. We checked their website menu and made arrangement with friends to...dine there. What a total let down, the dish was NOT on the menu but they did serve battered sausages with chips !!! I thought we had picked up the childrens menu. Totally disappointed we ordered other dishes from the menu. That was a mistake as all the meals we ordered had issues. We left, never to return.More

Have passed this pub regularily but didnt realise it did such a good food trade because the car park is tucked behind it. Well I was pleasantly surprised when I ate here at lunchtime recently. Covid rules were being strictly applied and they had a...nice outside area with tables overlooking the sea. The list of food providers impressively listed lots of local producers. There were lots of local people eating there that day which is always a good sign, I think. One of the specials of the day was mutton pies which looked and tasted delicious. They were full of meat, the broth was tasty and the pastry not soggy. And they serve fresh vegetables and potatoes with their main courses, something that sadly more and more places dont bother to do anymore. We will be back.More

I had an amazing carrot soup and fish and chips with great views of the Atlantic. The staff were very helpful and attentive and the place was very clean. It was right across the street from the Camp Junction B&B where we were staying so...it was very convenient.More

Cozy little pub and restaurant with amazing views, nice service and very decent food. Had the hake and mashed and thought it was just right after a long day out walking. Convivial atmosphere with a mix of locals, family and visitors, everyone seemed to be...enjoying themselves.More

This was recommended to us by the owner of our self catering house - and we were not disappointed! A great view over the water, friendly service, and amazing fresh homemade food. The falafel burger and half pound burger were perfect, full of flavour and...great value!More

The soup was outrageously good. The sandwiches and wraps were well prepared. The view out back through the large windows was gorgeous. We could see horses and sheep grazing, cliffs and sea.

We enjoyed 3 meals at this pub and I particularly recommend the lamb burger. Made from scratch, allow about 25 minutes for it to be delivered and be aware that this pub is so popular that some food choices may run out and you may...have a wait for a table.More

We came here due to a recommendation of local people. When we arrived the police and an ambulance were right in front of the restaurant. A car had crashed in to the wall of the restaurant. Luckily no guests were injured and the driver seemed...to be also not the much harmed. We were surrounded by many locals which also enjoyed the good food. The service was friendly and the dinner was served quickly.More

After a short, but very stormy and rainy first day we were there for our first Dinner. Some days later we came again for Lunch on our last day. I love the mixture of design, that you find inside. Service is friendly and fast and...the kitchen is good. We were very happy on both visits, my favourite for lunch on a walking day are the fresh soups.More
