During COVID, restaurant experiences are always special. Our host made our dinner a feel good experience with humor, adapted dishes for a vegatarian, fantastic tastes and a lovely terrace on main street. Recommend!

Great food, good service.

Friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and had a delicious meal at lunchtime. Varied choices on the menu and good selection of sweets.

Open on Mondays!

The town was quiet but this small restaurant was not. From a fairly small kitchen the food that emerged was really tasty. The salad starter was huge and had so many elements. The hake main was served on a soft and delicately flavoured risotto... gorgeous!...The magnet was also very fine. For dessert I had the chocolate fondant... yummy! Altogether a lovely evening with friendly and efficient service.More

Simple but Good Food

Friday night in St Jean d'Angely & not much happening. We went to Le Cabanon restaurant located just before the archway into the square. Two of us had the steak & chips & two had the chicken with gnocchi. Both were cooked very simply but...very tasty nonetheless. The 2 steaks we asked to be cooked medium/well but we both thought that they were quite tough. The chicken with gnocchi had a very slight dressing of oil & parsley. For dessert 3 had the chocolate fondant & one had the panna cotta. Both were good. The waiting staff were very good & very helpful. They suggested a lovely wine to go with the food & we couldn't ask for more. We did think the food was a little overpriced but not by much. We would definitely go back.More

Great bar for early evening outside drinks

This bar is in sunshine for drinks early evening. It was buzzing in a town that was fairly quiet, and the service was good. They have a large selection of gins for those who like a G&T

Looks Like it Should be Better

Staff was very nice, and I had a decent pork dish, but that was it. Entrecote needed a hacksaw, and deserts were well below average. Will not return

Warm Welcome!

We received a very warm welcome from the staff who really couldn’t do enough for us. Lovely atmosphere. Fantastic food. Great wine. Would highly recommend Le Cabanon.

Fabulous food!

We visited Le Cabanon 3 times during our 2 week holiday in St Jean D'Angely and how well we ate! We had lunch and 2 dinners and the food was excellent each time. The service was great and we were made to feel very welcome.

Superb panacotta

Quick lunch , €15 express menu. Delicious risotto, blown away by peach panacotta . Friendly staff, who quickly amended bill when she realised she’d made an error. Will go again.
