Old place with a facelift and new management…and the food is amazing … small tastes of beautiful flavours…already going to book for next week 😋
We were staying locally in an Airbnb and the host recommended this restaurant. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by the friendly owner and our order arrived promptly. The food was good and we considered it value for money. We would definitely recommend. There...was only one vegetarian option on the menu.More
The hard working owner set the tables, took the orders, cooked and served the food, served the drinks, cleared the tables and dealt with payments without keeping anyone waiting very long. Superwoman!! The food was homely and well cooked accompanied by delicious house wine and...all at a reasonable cost. Definitely recommended.More
This restaurant is tiny - maybe 40 covers - and the menu is not extensive. But what they do they do really well and for excellent value. We ate here on a Friday lunch and I think were the only "tourists" - everyone else were...regulars from the town. Excellent quality meat, delicious home made desserts, a nice selection of wines. I regretted not going for the menu du jour which was excellent value at 14€ for three courses. I really wanted an entrecote though (which I had and it was excellent). If I wasn't leaving the area tomorrow I would come back and try some of the excellent looking quiche. Great place to go for simple home cooked and good value food. No kids menu - mine shared steak and fried potatoes.More
Very pleasant set menu lunch €14 for 3 course. The food was homemade, with good flavour and plentiful. The waiter was very attentive, friendly and happy to help in English when my French faltered. All in all a good meal from a family run bouchon.
Last week we were taken here by friends from La Rochelle, and we had a very nice lunch together. Our kids did struggle with the menu a bit - but no problem for the adults. They had two ‘plats du jour’ menus, with optional add...ons. I really enjoyed my foie gras starter, steak and fig tart.More
We had the misfortune to eat here during our family holiday. The food was awful. The duck reminded me of my old pair of Dr. Martin boots. The quality of the food however was out-done on the negative side by the rude, surly and unfriendly...service. Unfortunately it was too awful to even be funny...More
I spent a week near St Jean d’Angeley and was taken to ‘Le Petit Bouchon’ mid-way though my stay. The food was delicious, typically French and prepared to an excellent quality. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and made you feel very welcome. The...food came quickly, was freshly cooked, reasonably priced and to a very high standard. So much so I am enjoying the second meal of short my trip sitting outside ‘Le Petit Bouchon’ enjoying the wonderful views of St d’Angeley square. Will definately be visiting again!More
