Exceeded our expectations. The salmon from our appetizers was smoked in house and tasted very fresh. The fish skewers were amazing, with generous chunks of fish.the presentation was also nice. Even the desserts were tasty and not overly sweet. I particularly liked the chocolate tart....Ignore the older reviews, this place is great and very reasonably priced. We made plans to come back with a larger group.dMore

Husbands birthday fell on a Monday which is France it is difficult to find a restaurant open so we contacted Le Mareyeur and they were open. We made a reservation for 7 people and they even took our telephone number. We live in France and...turned up at the restaurant and the restaurant was closed. Telephoned and no answer. Absolutely disgusted.More

We went on a Wednesday night which was not busy. I was asked if we had a reservation & we got the sharp intake of breath when I said no. I was then asked if we wanted to eat inside it outside & when I...said inside we got a table. The funny thing is that there was no mad rush of customers that would have required us to make a reservation. Three of us went for the fish of the day - hake in a basil sauce - & one went for the moules mariniere. Only one thought the hake was good & the moules were just ok. The molues on top were cold while those on the bottom were warm which was not pleasant. There was too much basil sauce on the hake so that it was impossible to taste the hake. The décor was 1950's seaside cabin with blue & white planked walls which I have seen done well in New England but this was shabby at best. We won't be back.More

Fabulous little restaurant with great value on the set menus. Nice location on the square. Staff nice. Would defintely go again.
Six of us ate together here on a Monday evening when the restaurant was very quiet. The waitress made us feel very welcome, took great care of us, and was very friendly. Four of us have entrecote, fries and salade - excellent - and two...had monkfish (lotte) which they also say was superb. The local wine was good too but the highlight for me was a fabulous crème brulee dessert. The hostess gave us a complimentary digestif of a glass of orange cognac after our meal....such lovely people, such a god meal. Certainly recommended.More
Visited last August but thought we'd give it another chance. Starter was fine. Asked for salad with main course as well as chips. Asked twice but no salad ever came!!. Main course sardines were like a starter portion, only 4. Should have been at least6!!...Disappointed.More
Recommended by the campsite, this place offered just what we needed after a long drive - open on a Monday, a table early evening, pleasant service and a good meal. Oh and a free Kir following mention of campsite! They’d had a busy Whit weekend...so had run out of several menu items but still, lovely fish starters and mains. Popular with locals and families too.More
Having read some of the rave reviews of this place we had high expectations. Unfortunately we found it very average and overpriced for some of the dishes. We would not return.
We have been going to this restaurant since it opened and have received charming service from the patrons/chef wife. Indeed many good meals as the starters are excellent combined with the dish of the day to try various different fishes. This occasion was different, particularly...annoying as we had recommended it and went with friends. The first difference was the chef/patron was taking orders, it started badly with a request for the dish of the day to be served without the sauce due to an allergy - this was met with a blank no, no other explanation other than I am the chef was given. It then got worse with sarcasm in both English and French (one on our table is a fluent French speaker while all speak enough to understand the meaning of the sarcasm!) It got worse with the arrival of the food with my salmon(previously frozen) uncooked for much of the centre, it was recooked with all the items on the plate, congealing the sauce on the poireau. The others had a decent main course. Three of us knew not to bother with puddings - very basic and ordinary, the two new people had a very disappointing café gourmand. The prices while ok are no better, maybe more expensive, than the three top restaurants in the town for lunch. This poor attitude to service is just not acceptable. We hope this was just a poor day and will give it another try.More
A fantastic little seafood restaurant which we as a family have visited both times we have been to France and attempted to return later on in the week again, however it was fully booked. Great friendly service and able to speak English, the menus also...were translated in English underneath. 100% recommended. Fantastic food.More
