It is always a pleasure to lunch here during the work break. The food is accurately prepared and cooked, taking the traditional recipes and others..

This is not first class restaurant. It is village inn in Zgonik with locals and personnel, knowing all of them and their wishes. Visitors will get nice meal or pizza in the evening. Food is fresh and local. It is not Italian. It is Mediterranean...and Carstic. Gostilna has covered garden and two separated side rooms in the house. Toilettes are modest as the prices.More

We've been going to this place for decades and it just gets better. It has a nice outdoor garden, a terrace and indoor dining in case of inclement weather (rare in the summer). It's a pizzeria as well as serving the local specialties of the...Carso. Grilled meats of all kinds, delicious vegetables and the Pizza done in the Stone Oven is wonderful. The desserts offered are numerous and we have yet to have a bad experioence. Fresh blueberries and strawberries picked from the woodss for instance is a staple there.More

We found this restaurant while spending the day exploring the Carso above Trieste, and are so glad we did. It didn't look much from outside, and even inside the decor is a bit '70's, but on opening the door the kitchen aromas were enough to...convince us immediately that we had struck gold. The food is based around simple local produce and tradition, with some Slovenian influence, with a fair degree of choice even for vegetarians (can be a bit tricky sometimes in these parts) and both the house wine and bottled stuff were excellent. Furthermore the staff were friendly and diligent and the atmosphere was that of a relaxed family lunch. A really enjoyable experience, nothing really to criticise; I'll be back!More
