Pre booked for table for 10 diners ordered starters and mains & the waitress was so polite and pleasant she was a real credit to the pub, the time between courses seemed lengthy but for food cooked from scratch I would expect this, but wasn't convinced this was the case as the salmon was dry, and the hunters chicken was... Had lunch here a few times of late and each time it has been lovely. I especially like their cheese and bacon burger, best tasting and best value locally. Service and staff very good too. Haven't tried a dessert yet as always too full from the meal! I am working up to it though.

We visited on a sunny day and many customers sat outside drinking at tables. We chose an inside 'canal view' table and ordered something which we thought would be a quick snack. Having bought a pint of ale and a glass of wine we settled down and waited for a jacket potato and a plate of nachos. We waited and... More

Visited this lunchtime. Lady who served us really polite and efficient but behind the scenes appeared chaotic and unprofessional. Ordered 2 bar snacks which took an age to arrive. I am not a fussy person and if hungry will eat my food but have to say it was indedible - poor presentation, saggy tacos , tasted of vinegar. I paid... More

Me and my husband visited here on a saturday dinner time. We ordered two of the plain burgers from the menu. The pub had a few customers but it wasn't that busy, so we couldn't understand why our food took so long to arrive. When the food did finally arrive we were so disappointed. The burgers were so overcooked that... More

Went for a meal at the moorings, still unsure if this place will ever grow on me, sometimes the people who get attracted to this place are very stuck up and snotty, the food did go down hill then picked up again, but after the meal we had if slowly on the decline, needs a serious rethink on how things... Called in for a few drinks after a family walk along the canal, found it to be clean and friendly, we had children with us so we sat in the side room which was comfy with great views of the canal boats moored up. There were some colouring books and crayons which kept the kids entertained so was all good.... More

Lovely setting by the water but a very tatty place. That could of course be due to flooding but it could have been made to look a bit more acceptable. Had to use the downstairs men`s room because the upstairs was not available. Downstairs is accessed through the door for the Ladies and had no working light. The Real Ale... More

Quite a good lunch, bit slow but that's OK when it's good. Service fine and we had a nice time. Dog could go with us too which makes it even better.

Very atmospheric relaxed and comfortable. A short walk along the canal is a must too. A rustic menu all in all better than an old greasy spoon.
