Very knowledgeable staff and supertasty/yummy food, very welcoming for vegans as well! Will definitively return and use word of mouth to get everyone to go there.

Having heard lots of great things about Pilgrims and read multiple positive reviews in advance, I was so disappointed with this restaurant experience. We went for Sunday lunch and the menu was well considered and varied. The food on the whole was very good however...it was severely undermined by incredibly bad customer service. There was several incidents with rude inexperienced staff topped off by a manager response that showed really poor consideration of basic customer care. I appreciate that recruitment is difficult during the pandemic but a Michelin star standard restaurant should really do better in terms of training and customer service etc. It was an expensive meal and while the food was good, the experience left a bad taste.More

Sadie runs a fantastic restaurant the food was delicious. There was four of us so we got one of each starter and mains so we tried everything on the dinner menu and everything was just fabulous! The battered monkfish was stunning. The staff are so...friendly and knowledgeable they couldn't do enough for us. Thanks you and I hope to return. PS the outside dinning was done very well - hardly noticed i was outside.More

This place just keeps getting better and we always leave very happy. The food (we stuck to vegetarian) and service are excellent and we will back.

We were three couples, all in-laws, having a long awaited get together. I found the food just wonderful, and it really was such a treat after settling for home cooking and mediocre takeaways for such a long time. The staff were so friendly and warm,...the ambience cosy. I loved my starter of monkfish adapted for my coeliac diet and the gorgeous John Dory. It was all so tasty. My only suggestion I’d have loved some gf fresh home baked bread. Those who had the lamb loved it, and the spicy mussels starter was great.More

Yet again Pilgrims didn't let us down. Fabulous meal in the lovely outdoor space created at the back of the restaurant. Sadie has worked wonders transforming the walled in area into a gorgeous comfortable space. You would hardly know you were outside. Tables very well...spaced out, outdoor heaters, marquee type cover overhead, lots of blankets if you wanted one. Evening we had dinner was dry - but even if there was rain you'd be comfortable and well protected. Food, as usual, was amazing. The set dinner is great value and included a little amuse bouche type bite, bread and a little chocolate at the end. The sheep's cheese and chard cannelloni starter was so tasty as was the beer battered monkfish. The vegetarian option main course sounded great but we opted for the lamb and the john dory. Between the four of us we tried all three desserts - and all proclaimed our own choice the best option. Nice wine/ drinks list. Another great evening had by all- we'll certainly be back again.More

The “rustic,” comfortable outdoor setting complemented the anything but rustic wonderful food! All the food was, from starters to desserts, excellent- superb basic ingredients, perfectly balanced flavours and excellent portions. The combination of ingredients and seasoning was exciting and unusual without being pretentious., and beautifully...presented. The service was friendly and highly efficient, resulting in a lovely relaxed vibe. Having eaten here indoors previously I am in awe at how they have transitioned to the outdoor setting, creating a different ambience without losing the quality of the food.More
