Excellent regional food, great ambiance with spectacular views. Dinner here was great and so was the hotel - The food was delicious, service was wonderful - our waiter was very attentive, friendly and helpful. We had pasta with asparagus, tomatoes, and mushrooms, as well as pasta in a cream sauce with dried red peppers.... the flavor and texture were incredible,... More

Yes, our food was extremely well prepared, actually quite excellent. For this I thank our tour guide Andi who selected this restaurant to give us a true Italian, Sunday noon experience. Many large families were there, and watching the interactions with moms, dads, grandparents, and the grandchildren made me wish I could join those people and experience their Italian families.... this place is the best choice if you are International. I've been there with my friends...the view is just spectacular and the place is really central. the environment reflects the Italian style and it is surrounded by a bunch of original paintings.... I found out about Maria Antonietta (the chef) on magazines and TV, I met her in person and... More

Not too many options for restaurants in Castelmezzano, but this one is definitely to avoid. The food is ok and service acceptable, but given the quality of the local produce, the food could be much much better. This looked to me a tourist trap. We had the mixed grill and a tagliata: the meat was not of great quality and... More

The Becco della Civetta is an institution, a long and steady presence that takes the regional specialties and local produce and turns them into fine meals. This is where I bring out of town visitors, because it is always a great meal and good experience. Reserve one of the tables on the balcony for fine views of the mountains. Then... More

This ristorante has the look and the prizes of fine dining but does not comletly live up to the expectations. Food is good and made with care but it does not stand out as excellent. Service is very good and souroundings fine. mayby we were there a bit early in the season.

This turned out to be one of the best Italian food we had. Not only on our recent trip to South Italy but even when compared to the many trips over the last couple of years to Rome and Northern Italy. The restaurant itself looks unassuming, but delivers excellent concoctions of local ingredients of the highest quality. This is topped... More

I made the terrifying rental-car trip into Castelmezzano, with its steep, narrow, flagged streets and then went walking about looking for some lunch, although it was past 3pm, when most Italian restaurants are shut. When I peeped in the door, the lone waiter beckoned me in and made me welcome. He served me and excellent meal. Spectacular views of the... More

A must for everyone who loves food and is visiting Castelmezzano. The chefs creates fantastic original combinations like swordfish with liquorice. You should go for the tasting menu to experience creativity of the chef for a very decent price. The wine that was recommended was perfect as well. Enjoy!

We went for our lunch after Flight of the Angels and a walk through this most charming village. The meal was the exclamation mark on a wonderful day. It has a large dining area with huge windows to capture the views. There is also a broad terrace. The chef greeted us after our small group applauded the meal. Fantastico!
