Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
We spent half a day walking around the beautiful gardens of the Bosques de Palermo, including the Japanese garden, and it was absolutely worth it. Stunning gardens and fit Argentinians going about their business - a great combination!
The Floralis Generica is a fascinating engineering structure. Located within the open parks of the Recoleta neighbourhood, this large flower has petals weighing more than three tons. The petals are cleverly designed to open during the day and to close towards sunset.
It's a R&C and starred so we had to try it. it's everything you'd expect from a gourmet French restaurant; good service, lot's of space between tables, excellent and varied menu etc. We enjoyed our food and talking with the staff.

"Don't miss the Franui!"
reviewed 6 days ago by AusDonny
We got two ice creams (Patagonia Mia and a Dulce de Leche) during our visit and both were delicious.
However, what was even better than the ice creams were the chocolate dipped raspberries (Franui!). The raspberries were fresh and juicy and were amazing covered in Chocolate. Make sure you dont miss out!
A friend living in BA recommended this restaurant. WHAT A CHOICE. Easily the best food we had in 6 weeks of eating around South America. The cannelloni was THE BEST!!! Great wines recommended by the restaurant accompanied the meal. Truly a wonderful dining and eating experience in a city known for great food. We will be back!!!
We bought a Tableta de Americano for 95p in every Freddo we came across, about 6 of them. Very tasty. Very creamy. Not too sweet, like most of the USA ice cream. The chocolate is excellent in flavor and texture. Yum. Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this place. Travelling alone can make eating out a disappointing experience at times but El Burladero’s staff made me feel very welcome (even not speaking Spanish) and almost as a bonus the food (especially tortilla) and wine was excellent.
I turned up without a booking so they apologetically offered me a seat at the counter which suited...
We were impressed with the elegance, overall service
And amenities offered by this special property.
While our first room was beautiful, it had no view of note.
The front desk kindly moved us on our last 2 nights here to a equally gorgeous room with a spendid view over Buenos Aires' river and parks!
My only disappointment was with both...
This was an exceptional experience at this Park Hyatt. The property is wonderful and the staff was even better. We hope to return in the coming years! The food service was great. I stay in hotels across the globe on average more than 100 nights per year and have done so for more than 35 years. This was the best...
We stayed in this hotel for 6 days and we can't be happier of our choice. The location of this hotel is excellent, close to a lot of attractions, shops and restaurants. As we arrived we were surprised to know that they had upgraded us to a suite. It was so comfortable, clean and modern. We had vouchers for welcome...
I have booked Mio for my Honeymoon, for two days stay in Buenos Aires and besides the well know hotels we decided to go for Mio and we loved it. The room is amazing, stunning decoration, good bed, and the bathtub is something else, the only problem in the room is the blackout from the curtains, need some improvement. But,...
Stayed at this hotel for 8 nights from November 11 to November 19. This hotel has an amazing staff from the front desk to housekeeping to restaurant and bar. They really took care of myself and 11 other guys with me. We were on a golf trip and they really made us feel welcome and told us about all the...
