Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
This is a rich collection, beautifully curated and well presented. The preservation work is great; many works look like they were painted yesterday. Highlights: great Rodin collection (including The Kiss), collection of sixteenth century Dutch works, comprehensive 19th century European collection and a magnificent privately-donated collection with many works that would be famous if they weren't done by the under-rated...
This church is adjacent to the Recoleta Cemetery, which makes it interesting just for being next to it.
It's small, very old and quaint; even though it's not very attractive on the outside, the inside houses beautiful saint statues and an intricate altar and tabernacle.
The pews are made of old wood and you could tell there are a lot...

Get there past Recoleta, and do not miss Bourdel´s Heracles (minus de arch, these days). one of BA´s finest sculptures, This side of the Museum of Fien Arts climb up the oppulent stairs towards the monument to General Mitre, glance at the river yonder (on a clear day you may catch a glimpse fo the Uruguayan coastline) and then stroll...
"Beautiful buildings, too many black remarks sprayed on it"

This Faculty, like the Law Faculty are beautiful examples of such buildings. Unfortunately too many stupid people spray with blacvk aerosols stupid remanrks that only distract the viewer. Perhaps they will day stop their idiotic actions and we can all enjoy the real, clean buildings. Well worth a visit!
I saw Dan on a Food Channel show and wanted to come to BA just to experience the ‘closed resturant’. It was everything I expected and more. It’s quite a thing to be invited into a strangers home and have serve you delicious food. Dan and Henry are the perfect hosts and, after travelling for some time, it was lovely...
We had a 3 course lunch here during the week, our final meal in BA before departing - the restaurant is in Recoleta, easy to find. It was busy with locals mainly, a real mix. This is a classy experience with superb food and outstanding service from a small team. Several staff speak English which was helpful in explaining a...

If you are thinking if you should come to this place, the answer is YES. Argentines know their ice cream, and this place is no exception. Try the dulce de leche with leche de cabra. The dark chocolate is amazing too.
This is a classy restaurant, good enough for special occasions. Recommended wine was superb - we rarely avail ourselves of sommelier, but we did in BA, and his suggestion was great. We had fish - unusual for BA - it was fresh and flavorful
The location is good near the center . The staff is great from the door man to the babysitter everything was top to in the smallest details. The rooms were spacious at the beds are heaven I slept like a baby. I hope to be back.
"Best hotel I have ever stayed at in South America, or maybe anywhere in the world!"

There was no detail that was overlooked, and no small request that was too much trouble for this hotel. The rooms are amazing, with every attention to detail accommodated. The service was impeccable. Great choice of food and beverage. If you want the ultimate experience try the spa for a relaxing massage. Probably the best I have ever had.
My husband and I vacationed in Buenos Aires and stayed at this lovely hotel. The room was spacious, kept immaculately clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a big shower. The hotel staff are among the most helpful I have encountered at any hotel. Breakfast was included every day and it was delicious. We had one...

The hotel is very nice. Personal very helpful and pleasant . The room is huge and bed very comfortable. THE highlight is the restaurant downstairs! I believe they changed name and/or owner from last year. The way that sommelier SEBASTIAN manages the place with his smiling staff is phenomenal ! We spent two evenings there enjoyed the ambiance, the food...
