In recent years, Botafogo has become one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Rio. It hosts many modern restaurants with contemporary food and many venues to listen to rock and electronic music. Its numerous bars and pubs make this area a great choice for anyone interested in a great nightlife experience - in fact, some bars in the area are open all night. Casa Daros, an art museum that showcases amazing artists from Latin America, is a must see located in a historical building in Botafogo.
All the details of the house are amazing: since the furniture until the ceiling. There is a immense library with more than 32 THOUSAND books reflecting this intelectual and studious man who Rui Barbosa was. And the gardens in front and behind of the house are really cute.
I just can't imagine how people coud live in such hot place...
It's very nice to go to Botafogo Praia Shopping, on Praia de Botafogo to enjoy its different sorts of restaurants, bars, to go shopping and - most important of all - have an amazing view of Botafogo Beach! But it's not recommended to swim.
"Great view of the Sugar loaf but not a real beach goers paradise!"

Lovely view of the Sugarloaf but I'm not sure if you can swim at this beach. There was no one on it and didn't look like your typical beach resort. It is quite scenic though and in a nice quiet location with bars, restaurants and a big shopping mall nearby. I stayed in El Misti Botofogo while in Rio and...

"Majestic basilica in Botafogo"
reviewed 9 October 2017 by Travel_World63
Very beautiful, the Basilics of Our Lady Imaculada da Conceição in Botafogo is an example of gothic church, with nice stained glasses and vaulted ceilings. Superb place for praying and admire the beauty of this lovely church. Take a break to think, to renew your feith, to thank your beloved, to ask your doubts. Moment of deep introspection in Rio...
Being in Rio you tend to try and be aware of your surroundings and valuables. On this occasion just jumping into an Uber (which is a very good way to get around in Rio) and setting off not knowing where we were going in the evening along some pretty dark backstreets caused one or two anxious moments. When we got...
"Very good option for healthy and fast meal at a reasonable price"

The Delírio Tropical belongs to a restaurant chain in Rio. I have tried two of their restaurantes the one at the Rio Sul and the other at the Barre Shopping. They have the same system that is similar to Whole Foods in New York.. You walk down the counter and order from the presented dishes, get the ticket for what...
Great location, great views from the bedrooms and friendly, helpful front of house staff. Sadly that friendliness doesn’t extend to the upstairs bar, where the staff are surly and just too sassy.
Recommend the hotel. Good value. Good breakfast. Clean and well proportioned rooms. Views to kill for. Just lose the attitude on the top floor and it’s the perfect...
I chose this as one of two stops in Rio de Janeiro for a trip last month and I was not disappointed. I requested a room facing Sugar Loaf Mountain which I got. I think it was #325. Not an overly large room but well appointed to the usual Novotel Standards. Hotel had a nice gym, indoor pool area and...
This is a no frills hotel that is a good option in a nice neighbourhood. Easy waking to restaurants and bars, and the hotel also had a good buffet each morning.
I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.
Restaurant Staff is excelente, polited, kind, alwais are able to help us and the restaurant is of good taste. The mealsare very good. The Junior Suit,801,have beautiful and confortable forniture, bright, clean, and silente. The Fitstudio cold have some more equipment.
The hotel is simple but very clean. Had the basics for a short stay, it really attended my needs.
I would just recommend the front office staff to me more discrete within their comments to the guest guests, in order to avoid uncomfortable situations.
