District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
Eat, see, and stay in District VII / Jewish Quarter
Having visited Auschwicz last year, we were interested to see the synagogue and hear a little about the history of the Jewish community in Budapest. Our guide was excellent and informative and the synagogue itself was a beautiful building, much of the decoration reminded me of middle eastern designs. Seeing the cemetery outside where more than 3,000 bodies from the...

"Lovely shopping area"
reviewed 5 days ago by BillE48864
This is a very unique shopping area. It is of recent construction but if you wander a few blocks away you will see some interesting older sites of Budapest. I would recommend taking at least a hour to stroll here and in the larger vicinity of the area.
The museum is in connection with the great Dohany street synagogue so if you visit the synagogue, do take 30min for the museum, too.
There is plenty of information about Jewish traditions and many beautiful artefacts on display. The history of the museum is also interesting.
We visited after the baths nearby. At 5pm the soup had sold out so we had two filled croissants. They were delicious and the coffee was fantastic. Staff are lovely people and very helpful if you need recommendations / advise.

"Do you want to eat quality streetfood for 4 Euros?"

Friendly prices, good quality and varied street food. These guys exceed creativity of the food but you don't have to worry about what you eat. Gluten-free, no additives.
A luscious soup like a two-course lunch like Pumpkin soup, Grilled paprika cream soup, Peanut butter soup with chocolate pieces etc.
And after all, order for a grilled baguette. More precisely a...
There is no other coffee shop like this one! It's decorated so creatively with vinyl on the walls and really cool products displayed and for sale.
The space is very intimate (not very big), which for us is a great thing. There is an upstairs that is very cozy and allows you to people watch out of the window.
Our waitress was totally helpful finding the perfect solution.
Overall the mood is really casual and good so waiting for the food does not seem long (actually it is not either). And of course the meats we received were really tasty. I especially liked the bpBarbq lemonade.
I am currently at the hotel and am so impressed! The staff are super helpful and friendly. The rooms are modern, spacious and spotless . The breakfast has a huge selection of sweet and savory foods, there’s even a chocolate fountain and free champagne! There are so many little extra touches that make the difference like the chocolate you find...
Excellent location in Budapest, there were 9 of us booked in to this sumptuous hotel, with a few teething problems which were dealt with in a truly professional manner. The staff are courteous and helpful and we enjoyed staying here, a must if your coming to Budapest.
We arranged a city break to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We had heard good things about Budapest and knew we would enjoy the Christmas markets. Europe tends to do them so much better than we do in UK (although we did enjoy Edinburgh!). Last year we visited Vienna and I can confirm that although some of the buildings in Budapest...
Perfect hotel . Central, clean and helpful friendly staff . Great plus side of booking through hotel website - room upgrade , free minibar restocked everyday and late check out . Will definitely return here .
Nice room. Not with a view, but I wasn’t there to stay at the hotelroom.
Good breakfast, but a bit crowded, too many people and the tables were to close to each other
And the staff was sweet
I could absolutely go back to this hotel
