If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
If you love Italian food especially, this street is a must do when In Melbourne. Heaps of Italian Restaurants don the sides of the street. This street also has lots of history, with the famous "Carlton Crew" making regular appearances during the Gangland War.
It is a useful little park close to Lygon Street cafes and take away restaurants. There are shady and sunny seats, some public toilets, a fountain, bandstand, and some grass under large old trees. It is free in an area that can cost you money.
This place lies at the main Lygon street and also known as Pokkies. This is a kind of mini casino and truly good for fun and entertainment, less crowded, convenient for people living in this sourinding but not like the big Casino Crown. Only slot machines available with drinks bar and shorties to enjoy.
This place is the real deal, which explains the almost constant queue, even in winter. It offers a broad selection of great flavours, including dairy free sorbets which taste amazing. The constant rotation of flavours means that there is always something new to try.
The one and only drawback is that there are very few indoor seats and the seats...

We reserved a table last minute and were so happy with our choice.
From the warm welcome to the home made pasta, everything was just marvelous.
Best Italian food in a long time.
Will definitely come back next time we are in Melbourne.
It's hard for an Italian to find an authentic place, and Seasons Provedore didn't disappointed me. I had the best time there and food was awesome! They have an amazing chef and floor staff is very friendly too.. Highly recommended!!! ;) authentic Italian's honor.
Good value hotel set in a great location just off Lygon street and a short walk to the city. The hotel was Clean and comfortable and all of the staff very friendly. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and while it only had one bathroom there was plenty of room for two couples.
I have stayed at this hotel many many times over recent years. Sometimes I book direct, others on line or through third party. I love location, close to city, good rooms, nice staff.
Upon recent visit it was a last minute trip down to watch football at MCG. Checkin was excellent, room comfortable and all the other consistent service levels...
We stayed at Lygon Lodge for the second time in 12 months last Saturday.
The location is fantastic, being right in the middle of Lygon Street which is full of amazing Italian restaurants. Parking is free, but it requires going around the block and down a narrow laneway. Once you find it, if there are no spots left, you will have to...
I know I've only given it an average rating but I didn't see anything amazing about the apartment but then I also didn't see anything to complain about either. Everything worked, it was spacious, all good. But don't underestimate the location. I've never seen so many restaurants! The night life was buzzing with activity and even when I was wandering...
