Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
"Well worth a visit but need to avoid the school groups"

This Museum has a huge amount to offer. On a recent visit we managed to take in the "200 treasures", Wild Planet (focussing on endangered species), birds of Australia (to help us identify the species of birds we kept seeing and hearing - we are Poms on our first visit to Aus) a large and interesting history of first Australians,...
To meet a magician in real life is amazing. The boy gets to touch the dove and rabbit, that, itself, is thrilling.
Hopefully, there will be more items and updates in the near future. Would love to go again and explore more.
This is an amazing place to visit, very inexpensive guided tour. Amazing historic buildings and just as an amazing history to go with them. Easy to get to from Sydney CBD, walk up from Museum Station or down from Kings Cross Station. Use the website to confirm tour date offerings, limited by numbers and only a few times a month,...
This park is small, but it has some amazing trees. Lots of people like to come here for a reprieve of the heat. Many lay down on the grass, either to read, watch, or sleep.
It has also a lovely gazebo.
I enjoyed the shade on this hot day. Next was to visit the Sydney’s Jewish Museum.
Enjoy the shade...
We were very lucky to get in without a booking on a Saturday night...because we could dine early. The antipasto meats were sliced to perfection & tasted delicious. The pasta dishes were very tasty & generous & the 'by the glass' wine list had good selection
We had made an online booking for the 3 of us, which was a good idea, because they can only seat about 30 people (apparently twice per night) and it was a full house on the Saturday night.
The place looks warm and cosy with an Indian (?) timber wall and atmosphere lightning. The waiter Tony was most friendly and...
I was always a fan of messina (and they're still great for their fancy creations) but for the best gelato in sydney you HAVE to visit RivaReno. I have never experienced gelato so creamy. The classic chocolate is my fav but all of them are good.
WE enjoyed a 1 night stay at Medusa. Comfortable bed and well located with pubs, cafes and shopping centres a short walk. Room we had was as expected for a boutique hotel - small but comfy. Good sized TV, microwave etc and tidy bathroom. Very helpful staff.
We stayed here for just one night and overall it met our expectations. There's nothing outstanding about the hotel but it served us well. The location was good, the room was OK, there was parking underneath the hotel, the service was friendly and, a nice touch, they were okay with us checking out 3 hours late and didn't charge extra....
We met some other people there for a coffee / breakfast meeting in their lobby cafe. It was a little disappointing to be honest as their menu was very limited and the service was haphazard. We were there for a while and we had to keep reminding the waiter to get more coffee
fantastic hotel experience, was made welcome from our arrival. staffs are very well mannered and friendly....cool funky modern layout mixed with 80's soundtracks....comfortable and clean rooms with a great sky view....the best part is the location, middle in the sydney...we'll be back for sure....cheers
Room was large and (rear of building) quiet and well-appointed. Location is excellent, close to city, Oxford St, public transport. Continental breakfast included. Building is older-style (once a guesthouse?) but reasonably modern inside.
Do check out the parlour with musicians' signed photos!
