Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
As a Real Madrid fan, this was a site I had to see. It's smaller than expected so I actually passed through it the first day in the city and didn't even realize it. So I had to backtrack, but still totally worth it to see where all celebrations are held after winning a trophy!
The Metropolis is a stunning building to photograph. We used to walk pass this from the Metro station stop but we also went past it on our bus tour as well.
The 'Rolex' building next to it which is like a tiered cake is also worth a look.
Always an interesting exhibition. Well curated, with audioguides. just big enough to satisfy your interest. it used to be free, but it is still excellent for 3 euros. worth checking what is on. The shop is also good.
We chose this restaurant because it had good reviews and was close to where we were staying. However I now know it is worth travelling for!
The food was excellent, really interesting dishes, superbly presented and very tasty.
Price-wise, cost €80 for two.
The service was ace. So friendly and went out of their way to explain everything and help...
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Casa 9. We walked in the restaurant on a Saturday night without a reservation. They were unable to seat us (it is a small restaurant), but we made a reservation for the next night and I'm glad we did. First of all, they personalize your menu with your name on it and your preferred...

We will be back and we highly recommend on this hotel.
Fabulous hotel, great location and incredible staff. Outstanding experience exceeding all our expectations! The room was spacious with great amenities including a safe, coffee, tea and plenty of information about Madrid!
Spent four nights at Hotel Urso, apart from one minor blip the overall experience was excellent. The hotel is a sort of larger boutique. Special mention for the staff, every single staff member was helpful, caring and supportive. Chose to upgrade to one of the Terrace Suites on arrival, it's position on the corner at the top of the hotel...
I love this hotel. Especially how it is very near to Grand Via and other interesting places like the Prado museum etc. I don’t have problem finding restaurants nearby because there are full range of restaurants from Chinese, Japanese to Spanish and Turkish food close to the hotel.
The breakfast is good. The coffee is spectacular. The whole presentation is...
