Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
"Wonderful, worth a visit, Oldest church/monastery in Barcelona."

Great ancient church and building to explore. Was on the outskirts of town in the olden days, beyond the city wall. Lovely cloister and oldest tombstone on early ruler in Barcelona to view here. Worth a visit, not far from the Ramblas.
We were spending a few days in Barcelona and I saw that La Caixa had an exhibition called “Pharoah” which was a great surprise as my grandson has recently become very interested in Ancient Egypt. The building is very close to the Plaza España so easy to find. The exhibition is artefacts from the British Museum and well laid out...

"Believe the reviews, and this Lebanese guy"

Authentic and delicious Beirut street food. Best I’ve had outside of Lebanon, and twice as friendly. I was so happy to have stumbled across this place that I went back the next day for TWO sandwiches. I have another day in Barcelona, I’ll probably go back again. Thanks Teddy!
Sometimes people get confused and think that good food needs to be super elaborate and made with 10, 12 or 15 different ingredients/processes in order to taste good. Great food is simple and you taste the main ingredient, not all the herbs and spices that are actually disguising what you are actually eating. Try the octopus at La Gastronomica and...

After a day of hiking/walking and sightseeing, it was 7pm and we were near Plaça de Catalunya and so a quick search on TripAdvisor and this was the closest and best choice.
We were walk-ins and were seated at the bar. The service was great and my advice is trust the staff as what they recommended was special compared to...
This is one of the most well designed hotels I stayed in. The shower/toilet/bathroom sink arrangement was great. There was a row of hooks running the length of the room which was super convenient. The headboard was actually pillows with pillow cases, so you know it's clean!
The choice between the city view and the garden view is a little...
Very convenient location - right on Las Ramblas!! Near the food market!! Staff was very accommodating!! Rooms are very spacious!! We could walk many restaurants, attractions and buses!! Fantastic breakfasts!! Rooftop bar for sunset drinks!!
Before choosing a hotel for our stay in Barca I checked out the reviews on Tripadvisor and picked Hotel Midmost. This proved to be the right move because our stay at the Hotel Midmost was fantastic. Perfectly situated in the city with easy access to everything in Barcelona. The hotel itself was clean and the staff was awesome. I would...
This was our third visit to Barcelona and this hotel. The location is ideal - near to Place de Catalunya which is central to many of Barcelona’s famous locations and all accessible by public transport. The hotel itself is a calm oasis in this vibrant city. We arrived at 22.00 and check in was quick, efficient but very welcoming. We...
Situated right on P/Catalunya, ideal for all transport options on a weekend break including airport bus and a taxi stand directly in front of an elegant fin de siecle building. Standard rooms are small, the proverbial cat cannot be swung! But comfortable incl air con and adequate for the purpose. Welcoming staff. Good breakfast if bit expensive, but in addition...
