Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
Just off the Rambla and a welcome respite from the heat. On 1st Sunday you get in for free instead of the usual €12 per person. Eclectic and a gentle introduction to Gaudi especially when compared to his later works. Delighted we chanced to see it and we were both delightfully surprised by the history and little treasure hidden inside.

I think people are turned off by the idea of visiting a hospital, but this is a highly under-the-radar site to see for so much more than just a hospital. Incredible architrechture--bright, cheerful, fantastical! Wonderful history. Hospital espoused an impressive approach to public healthcare. Not crowded like Gaudi buildings. Children would likely be bored, but any adult (esp anyone with...
Like others, we actually found the little church of Sant Pau de Camp by stumbling on it when we were in the Raval district. I'm very happy we did! It is a beautiful small church still in use. May you also get lost and in the process find this little gem!
They are swamped with visitors now that they are top of TripAdvisor, but the owners could not have been more humble and hardworking. In a country where shellfish & pork reign supreme, we were thrilled they were able to accommodate our pescatarian, kosher-style dietary needs. Great fish and fun restaurant!

Ate here a few times while on holidays in Barcelona. Recommend the nachos and the sangria. Great atmosphere, very friendly. Can book an early table for some great savings. Normal menu price is still good value.
We came here last night for our first night in Barcelona and it was a great choice. The food was divine, I had the prawns to start and they serve this with a mango sauce which I can’t stop thinking about now! They did unfortunately have a power failure halfway through, which meant that the air conditioning failed. This didn’t...
The lobby was not a grand one but everything was tidy, clean, modern simple and quiet.
I liked the 24hrs free snack station at the lobby. It always filled with cold drinks (bottled still/carbonated water, soft drinks, bottled cold pressed juice, fresh milk, fruit yogurt, freshly squeezed juice, fruit shake, desserts), fresh fruit, capsule coffee, simple boxes of salad, sweet...
Nice hotel ,convenient for exploring. Room was quite small . Reception good and knowledgable. Bar staff in lobby area very friendly. Rooftop bar disorganised had to wait ages for menu then again to take order went to the bar in the end. Breakfast excellent and breakfast staff superb
Absolutely loved staying here. Lovely boutique style hotel room and great facilities. The real winning point for the hotel was the rooftop pool, bar area and loungers (so relaxing & a sun trap, perfect after a long day exploring the city!) Wonderful staff serving at the rooftop bar too. Great location, so easy to get to the airport and get...
My wife and I stayed at the Jazz Hotel on a recent trip to Barcelona. Spent quite a bit of time researching our hotel choice and boy was that time well spent! A fantastic choice for a visit to this amazing city! A perfect location right at the top of Ramblas just of Placa Catalunya. A wonderful roof top bar...
This hotel is in an excellent location, basically 100 meters or so away from the top of la Rambles. Right opposite is the Catalunya square where if you’re interested you can catch the hop on hop off bus tours. The hotel it’s self is very pleasant although fairly basic but has everything required for a city break.
