You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
Our first time in Berlin and we took a train to Prague from here. We recognized the building from seeing it on the TV series Homeland. There are four levels here, the top level is for metro area trains and the lowest level is for long distance trains. This building is very huge, we had stored our luggage here in...

"Well worth the time and effort"
reviewed 2 weeks ago by surbiker
We went in August and there were two tours that day in English. One at 1100, the other at 1300. There are 155 steps up the stairs to begin the tour and as many during it but it is well worth the time and effort.
"A confusing name but an interesting Contemporary Art gallery"
reviewed 27 May 2018 by Ian_S_M
This is far more extensive than we first realised. We should have done a bit more homework before going round as we ended up missing some of the modern art that we wanted to see. The exhibitions change so it is important to research just prior to going. We enjoyed it and will go back to catch up. It has...
Take a five minute walk detour from Alexanderplatz, to see Block der Frauen/Block of Women, located in a very small park, in Rosenstraße, which was the site of the Old Synagogue, destroyed in World War II. The memorial represents the brave women, who successfully protested against the Nazis, for the release of their Jewish men folk, who were going to...

"A pub we want at home"
reviewed 1 June 2018 by TaxiFaber
Having just climbed out of the innards of the Berlin metro system at Birkenstrasse station, counting the many stairs, this is what you need to revive yourself. Lots of interesting and reviving beers on tap and in bottles and a small but interesting menu for small and big appetites. We had the Berlin classics: a curry wurst and two sausages plus...

"Rememberable fine dining experience in Berlin "
reviewed 3 weeks ago by Tezin-Gyalpo
We love food of all kinds
Fine dining was an unique experience in any city and this time we reviewed and chose this restaurant
Not regret at all
Located and decorated as an old train station, white and elegant
Beautiful dishes and skillful wine selection helpful staff
Try it you will be back again
Worth a visit. They have a number of vegan burgers available. They also make some of their own sodas: the mint and elderflower is almost like a virgin mojito. They have some good lunch deals. I got a burger, fries and drink for €8.50.
Quite nice. Recommend visiting.
Visited after viewing the Reichstag and the victory Column. Pizzas are great and huge. The fried calamari was crispy although the calamari could have been fresher. The chicken escalope was good and so was the salad. The meal was 60 for the 4 of us.
Unfortunately at the end we were told that they don’t accept cards - which was...
Currently staying here at the start of our European trip. We picked the Hotel for its location near the main rail station. You can’t get closer. As we use Hop On Hop Off buses, we couldn’t have done better, the bus stop is immediately outside.
Breakfasts are excellent, great choice and everything very fresh. The rooms are a very good...
Room was very comfortable and big, wery well decorated. Staff very helpful and frienfly. Good brekhast with many choices.
Internet in hotel was fast enought. We had a fantastic stay.If coming to Berlin will stay again in this hotel...
Very efficiently run hotel, friendly staff. Didn't try breakfast as we found, we checked it out on our 1st morning, that we could get better value and more variety at the railway station. Not inexpensive but good value for your dollar. Nice bar in which to relax after a long day on our feet. Would definitely stay there again and...
Good location, excellent breakfast and good room. The Grand Central station is near and very useful to go anywhere. The hotel team is reactive and well Customer oriented. I recommend this hotel expect if you're looking for an hotel where to stay all day long as there is no swimming pool or a large fitness center
Though not a motel with frills, this offers convenience to everything in Berlin. It is steps away from the train station which means one can go anywhere around city and to international trains. The station itself, is well laid out and easy to navigate ,with the standard shops found in most large train stations. It is also on a main tram...
