Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
This is a fantastic Museum! It is more for the History geek rather than a teenager or someone not well versed in Nazi history. A lot of reading and not very interactive compared to other modern museums. But for myself it was exceedingly interesting!! Would come back again to spend more time here!
Amazing collection of German technical achievements.
You can find here almost everything. Marvels of military and civilian engineering. All possible disciplines. Everything exposed in excellent way.
Only drawback is lack of English descriptions of the most artefacts.
I do not wanna say much about the food...just order following your gusto and you will receive what is pretty much the best in pasta, antipasti, meat and fish. We had the surprise menu, and surprised we were...
It is italian food, made with love and good produces..warm excellent service, perfect place to take your mother in law or friends...
Great burgers and fries!! The food was amazing a the vibe of the place ! I read that it used to be public toilets and now is this great fast food place!! Even though the burgers didn't remind us fast food! I absolutely recommend it!! You have to visit the place! There is a train station in a distance of...
A small, friendly and lively cafe that makes fresh and delicious waffles. Choose your own sauces, fillings and toppings to create a unique waffle - wonderful on a cold winter afternoon! They even personalise it with your name written in sauce. Great value and service.
Staff:very polite and helpful
Room:clean ,fresh,. May be wrong but felt that the bath in our room 301 could do with a slip mat.
Breakfast: would be nice to have croissants, otherwise has all that is required.
We stayed here for 3 nights ant the beginning of December.
A very good location .. underground station just accross the road (a simple journey to and from the airport).. 5 minute walk to Potsdamer Platz with all its restaurants and plenty of shops. Well within walking distance of many of the important sights.
The room was excellent, comfortable bed...
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. This is located only 1-minute walk from the underground. Very trendy with a nice and very clean room and with a wide selection of breakfast. Also a very friendly staff as well.
We stayed here at the end of November 2017, the suites are big and warm. The staff are very friendly and helpful, willing to give directions or advice. The suites are near to check point Charlie and other attractions so is in a great location. I would recommend these suites for a stay in Berlin.
Clean room, clean bathroom, clean towels, clean sheets! :)
Spacious, quiet, beautiful decorations, comfy bed, separate quilts (double bed), a lot of power sockets near the bed, near the desktop...
The staff is fluent in English, nice and helpful.
The nearby area is very quiet, feels safe.
We totally recommend it!
