This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
Exquisitely well arranged, this museum has a truly extensive array of artefacts drawn from throughout the Far East- mostly one person's collection.
But the absence of any refreshments on site remains a pain!
"One of the best places to visit and learn about French architecture"
reviewed 11 June 2018 by loreniarincon
We loved it. No crowds and lots and lots of information. The place is amazing. My daughter a my girlfried both are Interior Designers and could get enough of this place. I am not an expert but I truly enjoyed and learned a lot by visiting this wonderful place.
It was really wonderful at New Jawad. Everything was just perfect with a heartful smile. Excellent food, service, and great gratitude of staff.
Should try the kulfi and the chicken tikka masala.
I recommend every tourist, indian, pakistani or international to try once here, you will really pass a great time.
"Great French restaurant with best in class services"
reviewed 7 July 2018 by Katherine L
Top class fine dining in this historical building where service and food quality is best in class. Had the honour of being here with a short notice to get a table.
Great wine selection, chef’s recommendation is great and if you are not up for surprises, a la Carte has good choices for all.
Menu is seasonal and cheese selection...
Went for casual dinner with my family. We love this cozy spot. Food was delicious, Pizzas were delicious!! They should make their chicken special a regular, whole family loved. Staff knew English very well.
Really enjoyed our dinner at Etude. A sophisticated, quite cosy restaurant that serves excellent food without it being too uptight formal.
The 4 course dinner were beautifully presented - I had the vegetarian set and the food was excellent.
Sommelier’s recommendations on wine were also spot on.
Professional and efficient services.
We ordered both cold and hot oysters. They were so tasty. The oysters were absolutely fresh! We also followed the chefs’ recommendation trying out their steamed cod fish dish. Enjoyed it! Their seaweed tartare on crispy bread got us craving for it nonstop. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
As a family with older children (16 & 19), it was so nice for us all to be able to appreciate the luxurious and the “above & beyond” atmosphere of this beautiful palace. To call it a hotel would not do it justice. From the “welcome tea” to the staff, the amenities, the atmosphere, the location, it all exceeded our...
Hotel Pastel is on a quiet, pretty, mostly residential street in the 16th. On Saturday night, there was loud music echoing from a neighborhood party, but other than this, it was tres calme. I was in Room 34. It is a corner room and I had views and breezes from the open windows on two sides. At night I closed...
With the idea of knowing Paris, the Eiffel Tower, the Seine and the Louvre, we found this beautiful hotel, totally recommended. Very good location, in a very quiet neighborhood with all the Parisian air. We did not speak the local language and we understood with a little English and they with a little Spanish, communication was not complicated at all....
This is an adorable little hotel within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. The hotel was well decorated and clean. We were two families traveling together, 2 Adults and 4 children. We took two adjoining rooms and it worked out well. The rooms are smaller compared to American hotels. But, they was still enough room that we were not on...
I went over there with my family a few time ago.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the air conditioner worked well. The cleaners were nice. The hotel is not far from the subway "Ligne 9" and it's one of the easiest ways to discover the must-see of Paris. By the way, the hotel is located 10-15 min away...
