Kaffeehaus is a very nice place hidden right in the centre of Chiado, with a cool atmosphere inside and some outdoor seating as well. The staff is really really nice and the food is pretty good with noticeably fresh ingredients (there's this amazing cottage-cheese-like-thing in the salads). It's a bit pricy, but I recommend it.
