This review is not about the hotel but about our visit for afternoon tea recently. It was a pleasant Sunday afternoon so my wife & I decided to have afternoon tea in the very pleasant garden at the rear of the hotel. We sat at a table for a while waiting for someone to take our

Thank you for your feedback, and I apologise that you felt your visit was not completely satisfactory. With regards to the signs, sometimes they do blow off the tables if the wind picks up. They are a temporary signage solution whilst we decide on permanent service plans for the garden - unfortunately we had a lot of tables that simply walked off without paying, which is why we introduced the ordering at the bar and paying at the time. We do also have a blackboard at the bottom of the steps advising guests to order at the bar, but apologies if this wasn't clear. With regards to the afternoon tea, I assure you that they are made to order. The only exception of this would be if we had a large booking - 10 or more - where the afternoon tea would be plated up about 30 mins in advance and then covered to ensure freshness. With regards to the chairs, thank you for bringing this to my attention. They do get a lot of use in the garden, and the staff obviously don't get a chance to sit in them and test them themselves. However, had you brought this to a member of staff's attention on the day, they would have been more than happy to replace your chair and dispose of the old one. I apologise that the table was not wiped, and I will be taking this up with the staff immediately. The parasol is not dilapidated - the leg simply slipped out of the fabric pocket that holds it in place. Again, if this was causing you upset and you had notified a member of staff, they would have happily fixed it. Regards, Helen
