Love Levi as a ski resort, lift passes and ski hire are a fraction of the cost of the traditional European resorts, decent size ski are, good infrastructure, plenty of restaurants/bars and toilets dotted over the mountain. Well groomed pistes and guaranteed snow. No queues and generally quiet. Early in the season a lot of the slopes aren’t open though because they have no floodlights and there’s not enough daylight, so after a few days you do find yourself on the same slopes over and over again, and getting back to zero point is horrible as the only way is on a horrible flat green where you end up poking/walking half of it, or you have to catch the bus (which costs €4 a day!) which is why it gets 4 stars not 5z Can’t comment on apre ski, I’m usually too tired to doing anything but have dinner and then go to bed. Like all Nordic resorts it’s not cheap for food or drink, but you can get half board at hotels even if you are staying in cabins.

A very nice ski resort in Lapland. Ski pass prices are cheaper than France, Italy, Austria and on par with some other European resorts which offer much less ski runs and lifts. We visited during the Finnish school holiday season, but experienced no crowds in the Front or West slopes, only South slopes were a bit more full, though waiting still wasn't long - nothing compared to our ski lifts. Most of the slopes are red courses (intermediate) with some blue/beginner (south slopes) and a couple of black (World Cup slopes). No problem with snow, plenty of it up there, night skiing as well possible. All in all, we had two great, full days of skiing.

We booked private ski lessons for a family of 3 beginners at South Point. The lesson was 1.5 hours and I didn’t think it was that good. Our child has had ski lessons in a few other ski resorts, always with international teachers, always very warm. The teacher we had here was not warm at all. I understand there are some cultural differences at play but for a young child to enjoy something there does need to be some level of warmth and friendliness from the teacher for the child to be comfortable. Leevilandia was a nice way to warm up and take a break and I appreciated that it was right there though I didn’t love that the kids are playing underneath an out of service gondola. All in all this was a disappointment and we would not come back. We would come back to Levi but not for ski lessons.

In autumn the experience is totally different but climbing the cable car and seeing the views from above is very worth it. Upstairs you can take a very nice walk with 360 views. Downstairs is a buffet restaurant and upstairs a small cafe.
