    WOW WOW WOW This was an amazing experience! Ruwini knows how to run a kitchen especially with 7 inexperienced foreigners on board. Learning to cook the Sri Lankan way was both eye opening and incredibly educational. Ruwini’s English is impeccable which makes everything that make easier and allows for a deeper understanding of the dishes being created. All in all we created 6 curries, rice, poppadoms, roti and coconut sambal. Bearing in mind that we did this in the middle of a torrential downpour and everything was set up to cater for this. This cooking class has become a highlight of our trip and I would recommend anyone thinking about booking this to stop hesitating and book the class!

    We had a wonderful time with Ruwini. We booked for 2 people and ended up having a private lesson. We learned so much and had all of our questions asked. The lesson was relaxed and good fun as we made jokes along the way. We made 7 dishes and learnt the building blocks for cooking sri lankan food at home. Amazing experience would recomened to anyone even if you are not a fan of cooking!

    A delightful experience on so many levels. Ruwina is a warm, friendly and knowledgeable teacher who has nothing but patience for those of us who require significant handholding 🤓. She will also share her recipes because it’s amazing how deliciously successful our limited skills produced a super lunch for us and our guide and driver. I wholeheartedly recommend adding this experience to your time in Ella!!!

    We did the Honey Bee Garden Cooking Class on a free afternoon in Ella, and were glad we did. This was a great introduction to cooking Sri Lankan food. Ruwini's kitchen was spacious and perfectly set up for group cooking classes. The whole class was extremely well organized and clear. I am an experienced cook with restaurant experience, and I feel like I learned a lot in this class. Ruwini was also good at explaining the differences between South Indian and Sri Lankan cooking which was very helpful. The end result was a delicious meal that was by far the best one we had in Ella! This was an outstanding cooking class!

    The cooking class was great & the food even better! Highly recommend to book this class when visiting Ella! The host was very welcoming and provided detailed explanations on how to prepare the different dishes.

    We really loved this cooking class. We have done a lot of cooking classes abroad when we go on holiday, and I think this was our favourite one. Ruwini is really kind and patient, she let us do all of the preparation and cooking ourselves. She is also really knowledgeable and gave good tips on how we could recreate these recipes in our own country. We made so much food, and it was all so delicious! There was no rushing for us to leave, we ended up eating and chatting for hours. We were also sent the recipes on pdf after the class. Thank you Ruwini!

    My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at this cooking class. We were lucky enough to have a private class with Ruwini which was fantastic 😊 She talked us through the many ingredients and techniques to make 6+ Sri Lankan dishes including two curries, roti, and sombal which were all delicious. This was one of the highlights of our time in Ella. Could not recommend a cooking class more!

    I was very lucky to join Ruwini's cooking class on short notice! It was an absolutely brillant experience. As a foodie and someone who loves to cook, I learned so much from her. The class was fun, very interactive, relaxed and Ruwini was a wonderful teacher. She showed us how to make coconut milk from scratch, how to use spices and balance flavors. Everything was made with the freshest ingredients and we ended up the class with a delicious, healthy, traditional Sri Lankan meal! I loved it! Also, the day after I received an email from her with all the recipes :) As soon as I got back home I made some of those dishes again in my own kitchen and they turned out great!

    Great local cooking class! We made some delicious food, with a lot of good explanations on how to make it when we're home. The owner understood glutenfree and she made sure everything we made was glutenfree. We even made glutenfree coconut roti, amazing!

    We'd highly recommend to do this great cooking class! Ruwini gives really good information and instructions and it was really easy to follow. We learned a lot about Sri Lankan food, spices and the used ingredients, prepared a variation of different curries & sambol and everything that was prepared tasted fresh and absolutely delicious. Thank you for a great evening Ruwini (and Marianne & Nathaniel :)).
