Our group wanted to take a coffee tour and Oscar made it happen, so we were lucky to tour/coffee tasting at Cafe De La Luna. It was a delight meeting expats in towns we visited and hearing their relocation stories, with some of them even opening their homes for us to tour! Our group was the perfect size so it was easy to engage with each other as well as our guides making the memories extra special. My husband and I took the tour in November 2024. We had been looking to relocate to a warmer place for our retirement, and the itinerary of this 7-day tour looked very appealing, so we booked it — and we didn’t regret it. The tour was excellent, focusing on the process of retiring in Panama and living there. It also included some history-related excursions. In Panama City, we visited the old town, explored historical buildings, learned more about Panama, and visited the Panama Canal. This was very interesting. Then we traveled through different parts of Panama, met expats living there, and learned about their experiences — what they like, what they don’t, how much they spend day to day, and why they choose certain options over others (e.g., location, renting vs. buying, etc.). Many expats invited us into their homes so we could see how they live and how much they spend on rent, utilities, and other expenses. This was incredibly helpful. It’s one thing to know you can rent something in a specific range, and another to actually see what you can get for your money. We also learned from everyone we met that Oscar, Rod, and Megan not only complete the tour but also remain actively involved in helping people after their relocation. Knowing that this kind of support would be available was very reassuring. Oscar didn’t try to sugarcoat any of the negative aspects of living in Panama; he simply provided us with all the information so we could make an informed choice. In Coronado, we met with a real estate agent who showed us some properties and answered questions about the real estate market. At the end of the tour, we had meetings with an immigration lawyer and an insurance agent. By that point, we had gathered a lot of information, so we were able to ask detailed questions. The timing for this meeting was perfect. The tour group is usually quite small, which gave us the chance to bond with others, make new friends, and learn about their experiences and reasons for relocating. I also want to mention our driver, Juan, who was with us for all seven days — we truly appreciated his skill and professionalism. I can’t say enough about the amazing experience this trip across most of Panama provided my wife and I. We had previously planned to retire in Costa Rica where we visited 5 times over 12 years. However, we learned more about Panama and the necessary details involved with moving there in just a week than we did about CR exploring on our own over the 12 years. We were so pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotels, restaurants and experts that Rod, Oscar and Megan had included as part of the itinerary. The Retire In Panama Team have become ExPat experts in their own right because they are in daily contact with those who are now happily living in Panama. We will be trusting them to help us maneuver the latest requirements around immigration, buying a property, getting a drivers license, bringing our dog and shipping goods. From start to finish, we felt that the utmost care and attention went into making sure that we had a helpful and diverse experience. The big surprise was how much fun we had! Great hotels, great food, great information, and great advice for making the decision to move to Panama. We met many Expats who had come initially to Panama with Rod, Oscar, and Megan who made sure to explain to us that not only are they great friends, but they have become family. Not only do they take you on tour, they stay in touch with you to help you move, do things like buy a car, and muddle through any government requirements. We are so impressed, and we feel like we have made great new friends. They go above and beyond. They took us to the Panama Canal and other places they wanted us to see, which we felt like was extra. They do small groups, so we highly recommend Retire in Panama if you are considering relocating to this beautiful country.

The thought of moving your life to a foreign country is anxiety provoking. Hence, taking this tour is a MUST to get the foundational basics, meet other ppl with same interests from US & Canada (mainly), and peace of mind. My spouse and I are about 7-10 yrs from retirement and are considering Panama as a possible move. However, now that we are equipped with essential knowledge, we are considering if we could retire sooner! As everyone else has noted Oscar, Megan, Rod & Juan (driver) all have incredible knowledge & talents. It is unbelievable how many places you will travel to and learn about in 7 days. There was SO much DELICIOUS food (included), I think we both gained weight! What we enjoyed the most, was the all inclusive (don't have to think or organize) experience, followed by no larger than 16 ppl. A smaller group allowed us to get to know our possible future neighbors and made new friends. We enjoyed all the hotels and one (we loved) which we plan to return to just for a vacation. This is a very smart INVESTMENT in your financial confidence to move to a new country. Worth every penny!

I can’t begin to say how great of an experience my wife and I had traveling with Oscar and his team! We took this trip to investigate potential retirement options for us in the future. Oscar and his team answered every question we had. Information on everything from cost of housing, immigration process, grocery shopping, etc was presented. A true primer for those considering retiring in Panama. By far the most valuable insight besides being shown the locations and associated amenities was the ability to connect with retired expats on each stop along the tour. They were also able to questions from the standpoint of people who were actually living in each location. My wife and I really appreciated this. Many even invited into their homes and let us walk through them and answer every question from “how much?” to “where do you go for a good burger around here” was answered. The tour itself was also great. All of the hotels we stayed at were comfortable and clean. The food, all I can say is come hungry! Three meals a day were included. A variety of options at each meal encompassing typical American style food and authentic Panamanian food was offered. I typically have a big appetite… I don’t think I was to clean my plate once. Everything surpasses my expectations, I would recommend this tour to anyone! My only caution would be to those with any difficulties walking. The paved sidewalks and roads in Panama are nothing similar to American standards. Nothing that Oscar or his team has any control over what so ever, but I would not recommend Panama to those with mobility issues.

This was a very well run and comprehensive tour that gives you a taste of the different regions within Panama. Oscar is a very knowledgeable guide and goes into lots of details about the Panamanian culture. The logistics of organizing hotels and meals for everyone was carried out flawlessly. The collective knowledge that Rod, Oscar and Meagan have about Panama and the process of moving there is extensive. If you are looking at moving to Panama, or just want a guided trip with zero worries then I can’t recommend these guys enough. Top notch and great value.

Oscar, Megan, Rod and driver Juan are absolutely the best. They intentionally keep the group small and interactive. The information presented is kept short, concise and tailored to the individual group. Their services do not end with the tour. This group wants you to communicate after the tour is you need additional information or clarification. The staff is from multiple countries, thus they have already gone through the experience themselves and have already “walked in your shoes”. We visited 5 different expat communities all unique in their own way.
