- Colin W8 contributionsAbsolutely fantastic boat tour of the Cliffs of Moher. It was stunning seeing the cliffs from this angle. It was first day of operation and we took the 2pm tour. Boat was pretty busy - it would be best to get there early so you can sit on top. Chilly weather so bring a hat/gloves/jacket. Might be warner in summer. Took about an hour and the captain was just great managing the boat in/out of harbor with big waves (stormy day). Certainly a bumpy ride but that just added to the experience. We then walked along the top which was great as well.Visited March 2025Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 March 2025
- Sònia AReus, Spain1,106 contributionsWe used the service between Doolin and Inis Oírr (and return). The ship left the port on time, and in 15 minutes it arrived at the other port. Unfortunately, the ocean was very rough and the weather was not good enough to enjoy this expected journey. In fact, we had bought both the tickets for Inis Oírr and return + Cliffs experience, but we felt ill on the return trip (as many other people), and we decided to lose our journey for the Cliffs. Of course, this was our decision, but under those weather conditions, we sincerely think that the Doolin Ferry and Co should cancel the trip, or at least, give the opportunity to the user for cancelling without penalty. Such bad rainy weather, the jumping ship and dizzy people are not the best conditions to get excited for such an amazing cliff.Hello Sonia, Unfortunately the Atlantic can be rough at times and that's challenging for anyone prone to sea sickness. We hope you will get to experience our service another time when the weather is better. Currently we offer a full refund for cancellations within 48 hours. Your feedback is invaluable and we will review if our cancellation policy needs to change.Written 20 February 2025This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 December 2024
- SAEssex, United Kingdom21 contributionsWe travelled to Inis Oirr on the Doolin Ferry and knew it was going to be a choppy ride as there were gale force winds, but as it was our last day in Doolin we decided to still go. Wow, it was choppy, and there were several people suffering from motion sickness, but the staff really took care of them with kindness and compassion, you could see that they actually cared rather than just going through the motions. The captain sailed the boat excellently, and at no point did we feel unsafe. Island was fantastic. On the return journey the sea was slightly calmer so we decided to sit outside on the top deck as our return journey included the cliff tour. We were told we would probably get wet, but we got absolutely soaked. But although at times it was a little too rough for my liking, we did laugh loads and this is a family memory that will last a lifetime. Again the onboard staff were amazing, and were offering to help people go downstairs if it was too much and they were continually asking if everyone was ok. The crew on the boat are a real credit to the company. Would highly recommend the trip, but suggest people who suffer with seasickness take anti-sickness tablets beforehand, but rest assured if you are unwell you will be well looked after.Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that despite the choppy conditions, you had such a memorable trip and that our crew's kindness and care made a real difference. We’re proud of our team, and it’s great to hear they helped create a lasting family memory for you. It sounds like you had quite the adventure, and we’re thrilled the island and cliff tour were highlights. We hope to welcome you back on calmer seas for more great memories!Written 1 October 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 August 2024
- SHReston, Virginia275 contributionsWe took the boat ride to view the cliffs. The sea was fairly rough and some people lost their footing. The views were nice as the sun was out but it was hard to take pictures as the boat moved so much and you had to keep your balance. While it was nice to see the cliffs from this vantage point, we thought the trip was a bit expensive.Thank you for sharing your experience and for joining us to view the Cliffs of Moher from sea-level. We strive to offer competitive pricing while ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey with the best possible views. The Atlantic Ocean can sometimes be unpredictable, but we do our best to provide a memorable experience. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to balance cost with quality to offer our guests the best value.Written 18 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 July 2024
- Aidan WShannon, Ireland365 contributions10 of us travelled to the island of Inis Oírr (Inisheer) on Saturday 13th. July 2024 and it was fantastic. We sailed at 10.00 hrs and returned at 17.30, giving us many hours to explore this beautiful island. On our return, a Lady had difficulty getting her lovely Golden retriever to come aboard. One of the crew saw the Lady's dilemma and he quickly picked up the dog and carried it on board... A wonderful act of kindness. Many thanks to the Captain and Crew +the O'brien family (Ferry owners) for a wonderful service. Incidentally the ferry accept Free Travel passes.Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted that your group enjoyed your trip to Inis Oírr. It is indeed a beautiful island and a wonderful place to explore for a day.Written 18 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 14 July 2024
- Stef PUnited Kingdom61 contributionsI planned a trip to Doolin for the family and my husband saw the boats. We enquired about where they visit and what can be seen. The lady on the desk was helpful and took her time filling us in on the sights to see. She never rushed us to make a decision. We decided to come back the day after but the owner spoke to us and advised us the weather was changing and the boats may not run. We made the decision and did it there and then instead. What a decision!! Weather perfect! Crossing perfect! Views perfect! Lovely clean boats and approachable staff. Did feel sorry for the bloke on Inis Oirr. He had to deal with a queue of people boarding 2 boats at the same time. Highly recommend the trip and the ship wreck is the one seen on the opening of Father Ted! Enjoy Craggy Island!Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled that you had such a perfect experience with us, and it’s great to hear that both our staff and the weather made the trip even better. We're glad you enjoyed the sights, the smooth crossing, and even a bit of Father Ted nostalgia! We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to the team, and we hope to welcome you back on board for another adventure soon!Written 1 October 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 August 2024
- Jeff KPittsburgh, Pennsylvania2,480 contributionsEverything went very well on your 1-hour cruise with Doolin Ferry. We didn’t have trouble finding a parking spot and boarding was efficient and simple. If you want to sit on the upper deck you should get in line a little early. It looked like half the seats were on the upper deck and half were on the lower. We lucked out and had good weather with calm seas. There’s a recorded narration that describes portions of the Cliffs and its history. It was pretty much what I expected. They tell you to arrive 30 minutes early but it’s not necessary. You’ll be fine if you get there 10-15 minutes prior to departure.Thank you for your wonderful 5 star review of Doolin Ferry's Cliffs of Moher Cruise. We are delighted that you enjoyed the views and onboard commentary.Written 20 February 2025This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 October 2024
- Catherine D16 contributionsThe Seafari Cruise to the Cliffs of Moher was an incredible experience. Seeing The Cliffs from this perspective made them even more impressive. Our Seafari experience was tailored to exactly what we wanted to see; Hag’s Head, the sea stacks, caves and most importantly, the native birds (puffins, razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes and fulmars). Our skipper Ciaran went above and beyond to make sure we saw as many special birds as possible, and took us through the arches, showed us caves and an up close view of An Branan Mor sea stack. It was an incredible trip and we loved every minute of it. I thought I knew a lot about the Cliffs of Moher, but learned so many new facets to this geological wonder, thanks to our wonderful guides for the trip! We will definitely do this excursion again!Thank you for your fantastic review! We're delighted that you found the private, exclusive tour to the Cliffs of Moher such an incredible experience. It is indeed amazing to be able to tailor the trip to your interests and help you discover the beauty of the Cliffs and see the wildlife up close. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another excursion in the future!Written 18 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 May 2024
- gary fCleveland, Ohio323 contributionsWe used The Doolin Ferry Company to shuttle us back and forth between Doolin and the Aran Islands. The crew is friendly and very professional and the equipment is very well maintained. Ticket prices are very reasonable and they have an indoor cabin for those cold rainy days. Probably the most amazing thing about the crew is that one of our party left a back pack with camera equipment on the ferry at the end of the day. When it was discovered missing, we called the Doolin Ferry offices and, to our disbelief, the back pack was safe, sound and ready for pick up the next day. That speaks volumes to me!!!! Doolin Ferry is the best!Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you had a great experience during your trip to the Aran Islands with Doolin Ferry. We love happy endings and are thrilled your backpack was safely returned to your friend. - CharlotteAnn55 contributionsFast and efficient service to the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. We purchased the combination ticket and visited Inisheer and the cliffs for 50E each. There was a short overview of the cliffs when we arrived and they turn the boat so passengers on both sides can see the cliffs. There was one downside - my husband was wearing a NOAA jacket and one of the crew had a disparaging remark.Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are delighted that you found our ferry service from Doolin to be both fast and efficient. Attempts at humour don't always work and we are sure that our crew member did not mean any offence to be taken.Written 18 July 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 May 2024
