Spectacular Casa Batlló is a masterpiece of Catalan modernism and a journey into the imagination of Antoni Gaudí. Its maritime and dreamlike facade, with sinuous shapes and vibrant colors, is a celebration of light, nature and fantasy. Every detail, from bone columns to balconies in the shape of masks, tells stories inspired by the legend of Saint George and the marine world. The interior is equally extraordinary, with spaces that combine aesthetics and functionality: a central courtyard that distributes light and air, a staircase that evokes the spine of an animal, and a roof that simulates the back of a dragon with polychrome fireplaces. Every element, from the tiles to the ergonomic handrails, is cared for in every detail. Casa Batlló is a total work of art, where beauty and functionality come together in a unique experience. A place not to be missed for those who love Gaudí’s art, architecture and creative genius. Veryella also the projection into the cube. In the terrace there is a bar that we did not use and so I can not make a review. I'm sorry I didn't also buy the ticket for the private rooms, but the cost is really excessive. It starts from 35 euros per person (online price, on the spot it costs more and anyway I recommend you buy it first, because it is always full), and going up, depends on the time, eg in the evening it costs more and depends on whether you want to see everything or not. Fantastic architecture and beautiful to behold. For anyone who is a fan of Gaudi, I would deem this a must see that is well worth the cost and crowds. If you are not into Gaudi, you may not enjoy this experience as much or be okay with the ticket prices. This is one of the attractions that sells out quickly so you will need to book in advance to ensure you get tickets. We booked the “blue” tickets for the first slot of the day about 3 weeks in advance through the official website. After much research on the matter, we felt the blue ticket would be best for us and once we were there we were very happy with that choice. I found the audio guide helpful and was glad I was not carting a tablet around with me while trying to take pictures. It was very busy but not extremely crowded when we were there and we were admitted within 5 minutes of our entry time. With the larger crowds outside of the building, it is easy for the signage set up on the sidewalk that indicates the lines for different entry times and ticket levels to be blocked from view. Keep an eye out for these so you line up in the correct line. The whole thing took us about 45 minutes.

Dom Baglio, aka Batllo, aka Dom Bones, aka... is one of Gaudí's later and most mature works, listed by UNESCO. "Tear everything down, Maestro Gaudí, and build me something like that!" Thus, thanks to the textile tycoon Joseph Ballot, who purchased a house standing on the site at the time, a bizarre building appeared. The old house, by the way, Gaudí did not demolish, but completely rebuilt - changed the facade, redesigned the interior, added an attic, expanded the patio and made the house a real work of art. In addition, he made engineering improvements to the ventilation system, ergonomics, in general, in his usual manner made the house not only unique visually, but also comfortable for living. Who sees what to the appearance of the house – who sees bones and skulls, who sees the guts of monsters, who see scales, eyes or dragons, for some it is a multifaceted underwater world, and for some they marvel at Venetian masks. As always, the design lacks straight lines - a characteristic feature of all Gaudí's work. "Nature does not tolerate right angles." Smooth, round, fluid shapes. All interior objects without corners – windows, chandeliers, doors, mirrors – whatever. There are no enclosed spaces: each room flows to the next. The Baglio house ceased to belong to the Baglio family in the 1950s. After a change of ownership, starting in the 90s it became the property of the Bernat family, which completely restored the structure. And since 1995, the chup-chup heirs of Enrique Bernat (yes, yes, he is the famous inventor of lolipop) have opened the doors of the house to visits, and it should be said that they cut a lot of money on this, considering the price of the ticket (35 euros) and the number of tourists visiting daily. The house is beautiful, unusual, mesmerizing, of course, but the crowd, like a caterpillar crawling from the street, through the house and up the stairs, nullifies all the magic. I don't know how many tickets are sold for each hour-long session, but you walk around the house in a tight line with other sufferers shoulder to shoulder. In that respect, Casa Vicenza was much more pleasant. Although, of course, one visit to Ballo is definitely necessary. Yeah, don't be lazy waiting for the Gaudi Dreams immersion show to start on the way out, down the stairs. I don't know how often it happens, but it's something fascinating!

The staff was friendly and provided smart guides (Augmented Reality tablets), which kept both adults and kids engaged. Exploring the Interior The moment we stepped inside, we were amazed by the organic shapes, stained glass windows, and wooden doors that seemed alive with movement. The main hall had a ceiling that swirled like an ocean wave, and the staircase resembled a spine, adding to the underwater theme of the house. The Noble Floor: The former residence of the Batlló family, with its breathtaking large windows overlooking Passeig de Gràcia. The natural light and sea-inspired details made this room a favorite for photos. The Light Well: A central courtyard covered in blue ceramic tiles that change in shade as they go higher. This gave us a magical sense of depth and tranquility. The Attic: White, ribbed archways that looked like the inside of a whale’s ribcage. It was both eerie and beautiful. The Roof Terrace: This was the highlight of our visit! The dragon’s back-shaped roof with colorful scales and the chimneys with twisted shapes made us feel like we were in a surreal world. Family-Friendly Aspects Casa Batlló is a great place for families. The interactive audio guide with augmented reality animations kept the kids entertained, and the playful architecture sparked their imagination. The stairs and narrow pathways might be tricky for very young children or strollers, but there was an elevator available. Final Thoughts Our visit to Casa Batlló was nothing short of magical. It’s a must-see in Barcelona, whether you love architecture, history, or simply want to experience something extraordinary. The attention to detail, artistic vision, and immersive experience make it one of Gaudí’s finest works. Yes, it gets crowded. Yes, upgraded tickets cost more money. If you plan ahead and are willing and/or able to purchase upgraded tickets, your experience should be significantly better than the experiences recounted in many of the reviews. If you want to avoid stupidly long lines and a staff that is ridiculously overworked, book 9:00 tickets and arrive at 8:30. It is likely you’ll still stand in a line, but it won’t be like the lines in late afternoon. Also, you should be entering on time and the there won't be people lingering from previous entry times. If you are considering the silver ticket, do yourself a favor and just spend two more euros to get the gold ticket. In either case, the augmented reality tablet is a cool feature that adds depth to the experience beyond what the audioguide can provide and the concierge room is pretty cool too. With the gold ticket, the private residence, FastPass, flexible scheduling, and free cancellation are well worth the two extra euros. As far as the actual house goes, it is simply amazing. Being able to see up close what Gaudí created is worth it, even if you have no choice but to settle for a blue ticket during a crowded time. There is something almost soothing in the lack of straight lines and sharp corners, creating a feeling that is so very different than what most experience in everyday life. Be sure to spend some time on the roof to take in the views of Barcelona. Also, as an addd bonus, take a good look at the facade either before entering or exiting. There are so many details to be found there, but many miss them because they are being hurried into or out of the house. At the risk of being repetitive, go early! Your experience will likely be vastly superior to those later in the day.

We recommend booking tickets through the site, because when we went, we thought we could buy tickets to the job page, but concluded that they were expired, the staff recommended buying them through the site instead.Fortunately, there were fewer people at the time, so we bought them in time and got in. The staff is very nice and helpful, so if someone plans to visit, book a ticket in advance for the tour. P.S. personally thinks the other place is even nicer—it doesn’t have much to see, but the rooftop looks normal (or we don’t know we don’t eat).

Very well worth a visit. The architecture is amazing; it truly is a Gaudi masterpiece. We went in April and there were heavy crowds; I can't imagine this place in full summer. You must reserve ahead of time; we waited about 20 mins or so to get in. We toured on our own; you are given an audio guide to follow as you enter each room. The terrace was beautiful also.

Simply the most beautiful house of Gaudí! Everything in it is brilliant, from the fact that it does not have corners, the impeccable woodworking of the windows, the garden, the beauty of the tiles... they say that Gaudí was inspired by the legend of Sant Jordi and indeed the house has many elements that relate to the dragon and the princesses. There is a decorated apartment where 5 euros are charged extra to visit and at the end has a wonderful experience in 360°. It's inevitable!
