    Amazing
I've been to museums in New York and DC many times. Spent five hours here and fell like I barely saw anything. Amazing. Our guide, Ivan, was great. He navigated us through the maze of art works to show us the "three ladies" Venus de Milo, Winged Victory and the Mona Lisa in an hour and a half. He talked about other stuff as we walked of course, but the plan was to see these three for our first visit. When we finished with him he walked us back to the Egypt wing and we then wandered on our own. It got overwhelming eventually and everything just sort of melted into "this is so cool" so that is when we decided to leave for the day. If you like history, or art, or architecture you will love this place.

    Worth it!
A royal treasure for the entire world. It is worth it to hire a guide for the first day. It is quite crowded and getting to see some of the main exhibits can take up 3-4 hours. We will be back to discover the hundreds of pieces of history we could not see the first time.
meganhV91XJ, thank you for your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience of visiting the Louvre! See you soon at the Louvre.

    A very good tour
We used the "Skip the Line" tour company. Our guide, Hamish from Scotland, was knowledgable, easy to understand, and well organized. He obviously knew the Louvre very well and had interesting facts to share.

One Day is not enough time to visit
The extensive creations by the artists are just wonderful. The sheer extent of its volume may not be enough . Long queue for almost everything particularly that of the Mona Lisa . You will be definitely pressed with time. Don’t forget the souvenir shop.

    The Louvre
It is the Louvre! The most famous museum in the world. It is well deserving. The museum is enormous and it is difficult to give each section the attention it deserves in a single day. I'm sure folks can spend their entire lives wandering the halls of this massive building.

SKIP THE LINE TICKETS SAVE THE DAY!!!
We bypassed hundreds of people in line with skip the line tickets. We entered through a completely empty security check point around to the north of IM Pei's pyramid. Once inside the place was most crowded near the Mona Lisa, but not too bad anywhere. There are several entrances to the galleries from the main lobby under the pyramid. Choosing any entrances that doesn't lead directly to the Mona Lisa will be fastest. All the galleries connect, so you can work your way over there easily.

    Best museum experience ever
Amazing experience. Best to buy tickets in advance and enter the museum through shopping centre below to avoid long queue. It is best to come early in the morning and firstly visit the floor where Mona Lisa is since that's the floor that will be the most crowded one later. Other floors are equally interesting but way less crowded. Looking forward to visiting it again.
marinakJ7316MJ, we are pleased to read that you enjoyed your day to the Louvre. We look forward to welcoming you back.

    Wonderful
We enjoyed the museum. We tried to do it in one go, it is not possible. I think two visits are required. The layout of the buildings are complex even with the free map. We missed a number of paintings on floors 1 & 2 as a result of rushing. Take your time, we will next time.

    Love the Louvre
I purchased a tour and had a fantastic guide. This person had a masters in art history, which really showed during our tour. This person showed us the most important things in the museum. He called it the 3 divas of the Louvre. Venus de Milo, Winged Victory, and the Mona Lisa. They explained many bits of information on each of these most impressive sites. Things that you cannot know from just any tour book or even some guides. Undoubtedly this was the best tour I've ever had, and this location calls for it. We were told that if you spent 1 minute at every exhibit in this museum, it would take you over one month to see everything. What a great place this is. A place where history has stopped and tells you a story. The art is unbelievable. The status are amazing. The atmosphere is awe-inspiring. I absolutley loved the experience of being at the Louvre. Even with a map, you will be surprised at what you find around the next corner. You could spend a whole day here and go around the world and so far back in time that it doesn't seem real. I recommend getting a tour from a reputable company. It will make a huge difference in your experience.

The Most Visited Museum in the World
Well 8 million visitors a year can’t be wrong! A visit to the Louvre is an absolute must if you visit Paris. It’s packed with 35,000 pieces of some of the world's best and most famous artwork such as Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Virgin of the Rocks. Not only famous for its priceless art, the Louvre also contains more than 380,000 objects including an impressive collection of sculptures and statues including the Venus de Milo. Ticket prices are very reasonable at €17 per adult, and children under 18 years go free! **Hot Tips: Book your tickets in advance, but even then, there’ll likely be a huge queue to get in. If the queues up top seem long, head into the shopping mall and locate the entry point on the lower ground floor as it’s often quicker. **Hot Tips: There is always a huge queue to see the Mona Lisa, so the best time to visit is just before closing time! Through the presentation of portraits of the artist or his characters, paintings, engravings, drawings, and using an original scenography, the museum encourages the visitor to wonder about Balzac and suggests original paths for lead to the discovery as well as to the rereading of La « Comédie humaine ».
