Hotels near Eagles Flying

Eagles Flying is a scientifically run Wildlife Sanctuary specializing on Birds of Prey and Owls. We focus on "hands on" interaction between our well trained animals and our visitors. During our educational flying demonstrations members of the audience can have a bird of prey land on their hand or have Eagles, Falcons, Hawks or Vultures stoop inches over their heads while Scientists inform in a friendly and fun way. Our visitors can also visit our unique "Touch-Zoo" where they can play and pet "Tui & Alan" our Foxes, get pick pocketed by "Grizzly" our tame Raccoon, have "Monty" our 4 meter Python around their shoulders or get up close and personal with any of the other unusual animals. Get closer than you have ever been to the masters of the sky. Eagles Flying really is an unforgettable experience and a must see for people of all ages and interests.

    Absolutely wonderful experience!
We were a group of 5 family members who went to this wonderful place and every one of us thought it was amazing. The birds of prey show was so interactive- - all of us got to experience the birds landing on us. Our guide Jenny was brilliant- her love for the animals and her entertaining stories made listening to her a treat. She gave us such a lot of useful information about each bird. We also loved the petting farm where we were thrilled to hold a skunk! The whole experience will be a highlight of our Ireland trip!

    Wonderful family experience
This would be a must for families , children would love it. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, you get a chance to actually touch the birds if you want to and get to observe them up close in their cages. We saw a very playful golden ferret which I believe is quite rare. I gave it an excellent rating for that reason but as an older single traveler I probably wouldn't have gone, however I would recommend it.

Unique experience for young and old!
What was not clear to me before and then was all the nicer to realize that this is not a classic falconry, but that these are rescued animals. I know many falconries from Germany, but the plant here absolutely stands out! Already at the parking lot we were greeted by horses, ponies, sheep and donkeys and then we were joined by a cheeky crow, who briskly jumped around on my hat and alternated between my arm and hat, she stayed on me until we arrived at the entrance. That alone was a magical experience when you think raven birds are great like me. Inside you can expect as many other wonderful animals as a tame fox, a tame deer, a tame skunk, a peacock as well as a great petting zoo with all kinds of animals. The facility is wonderful and the animals are doing great, the staff are there with passion! Everything lives on donations here, donation boxes are at the till. Every euro benefits the animals.

Lovely experience, wonderful animals, knowlegdeable handlers, in the Irish countryside.
This was an absolutely wonderful experience, run by people who obviously love what they do! We learned a lot, and enjoyed it even more. The location is a farm, where people live, and the sanctuary lives off of contributions and ticket sales. This means it's not the professional looking place some people might expect (but in contradiction to what others have written, you could get a coffee and some snacks there). The main thing there however is of course the animals, and especially the birds of prey. The handlers were very knowlegeable, and obviously loved their work. I've been to other bird of prey shows, but never had the opportunity to be this close to them, from petting a barn owl to having a Harris hawk on my hand. The petting farm, even though it was primarily for kids, was also awesome for animal loving adults. Holding an adorable skunk and getting face kisses from one of the goats were highlights for me! So if you love animals, and want to support the enormously important task these people have taken on, this is a no-brainer.

    Absolutely fantastic
We loved the whole experience. The bird of prey show was great, Chloe was so knowledgable and Evie’s preshow tour was great too, you could clearly see that they loved what they did. Getting up close to animals and birds which were clearly very well looked after and loved was just so lovely to see. My daughter also loved the experience, the petting zoo was great for her to handle animals she wouldn’t have got the chance to before. It should be used by the government as a great education tool because even though I have a keen interest in birds; I still learned a lot from going. They do an amazing job.

    Fantastic Place and Great Experience
Fantastic place, great value for money. Staff so friendly and knowledgeable about all the birds in sanctuary. The pigs were hilarious and noisy and as the signs say clearly... they bite and they did but so cute. The herons and other birds just wander around the place and are so greedy and fast when the food is thrown down. The herons nearly have quite a tantrum while waiting on their food to be given to them. Spotlesly clean enclosures. It's a great couple of hours to spend and well worth the entrance fee. I noticed a very bad review but ignore that one and definitely go. It's amazing to see how well all the animals and birds are cared for. No, there isn't a cafe there but it really doesn't matter as everything else was perfect. Will definitely go again.

Sanctuary of care loving rangers and animals
What a truly wonderful experience to witness the love and care the rangers have for the beautiful creatures in this sanctuary. The grounds and facilities are very well kept. All animals and birds look healthy and happy, being fed to suit their breed, needs and rehab. It was with so much pleasure (and good fortune given the weather I was the only visitor!) to experience the birds of prey, owls, and countless other aminals in the grounds as well as the petting barn. Chloe, Evie and Darragh were so connected to the animals and their role as carers. I truly appreciate seeing this bond and reciprocated love and joy. Thanks for a memorable experience.
