    Very interesting
We booked a tour with Get Your Guide to visit the Book of Kells. You need a reservation in advance since this was packed. Our tour was the last one of the day, so the crowds were thinning out by that time. However, since they close at 5:00 p.m. we were rushed out when we arrived at the souvenir store, so we only had time to do a quick walk through. I would suggest booking the first tour of the day or towards the end of the day so you can get a better view of the exhibition and library.

The library is stunning - go!
Nicely designed centre explaining the history of this impressive book. The explanations and details are very good, building to actually seeing the pages of the book on display in a darkened room. Moving on to the Old Library is wonderful - it's an mazing structure, and with some very good videos of how they are cleaning, indexing and preserving the contents. I was braced for disappointment, having read earlier reviews, but didn't feel at all let down - it was excellent, stunning - and it's encouraging to see the effort being taken to preserve the books. The whole visit was excellent though in some ways, seeing the book itself is just one element.

    Beautiful Library
The library is stunning! The book, not so much. There was a confusing entry with a lot of reading and a few artifacts, and then you walk through to the special room where the book is. I don’t know, it just wasn’t that interesting to me. The library is beautiful though. Words and pictures don’t do it justice. Maybe a bit pricey, especially if you don’t care about the book. All the books in the library are being cleaned, and therefore not on display. I still think it was stunning and worth seeing, even without the books.

    Excellent well worthwhile visit
Read lots of reviews complaining about the book. Yes the book is in a case and you see one page and this could be any page but this is all about preserving the book. The page is fascinating and the staff in the room knowledgeable and helpful (when not enforcing the no photography rules that people seemed intent on trying to break 🙁) The build up with details was excellent in the ante room and once you exit into the library a stunning opportunity to explore the incredible library Fantastic visit

Amazing Example Of Preserving God's Word
My wife and I spent two days in Dublin at the end of our tour of Ireland. We knew no matter what that this place was on our list of things to do. The Book of Kells was sold out, but if we purchased the combined ticket of the Book of Kells and the Trinity College tour, then we could see it. This was a no brainer. This tour was amazing. The Book of Kells, which is also known as the Book of Columba, is an illuminated manuscript and Celtic Gospel book in Latin, containing the four Gospels of the New Testament. It was created in a Columban monastery in either Ireland or Scotland, and may have had contributions from various Columban institutions from each of these areas. It is believed to have been created around 800 AD. It is regarded as a masterwork of Western calligraphy. The manuscript takes its name from the Abbey of Kells, County Meath, which was its home for centuries. You only get to see one page of it and no photos are allowed. However, the information throughout the museum is amazing. As for the Old Library, we were fortunate that we got to see it in its final week before the historic books undergo a massive cleaning. The library will five years during this tedious process. While most of the books were already removed for cleaning, we did get to see some. This Old Library and the. Ook of Kells was simply amazing!

    Irish Religious and Historic Treasure!
No trip to Dublin would be complete without a visit to beautiful Trinity College, the Book of Kells exhibit, and Trinity Library. On a wonderful fall day, the college campus was very lovely. We had reservations for a 10:30 appointment to tour the exhibit. It was well organized, but as soon as we entered, we realized how crowded it would be. The museum, with accompanying headsets, allowed us to explore the history of the Book of Kells, but the push of people made it very uncomfortable. The Book of Kells is a medieval religious manuscript. It contains the four New Testament Gospels, written in Latin and crafted by Celtic monks around 800 AD. Viewing the sacred book was moving, but we were disappointed that the two pages exhibited were a glossary type page. We would have appreciated being able to view pages from one of the Gospels. After viewing the Book of Kells, you then enter the historic Long Room within Trinity Library. Again crowded, but we were able to appreciate both the beauty, craftsmanship, marble busts of philosophers and writers, spiral staircase, and medieval harp. We were surprised that library shelves were empty! We were told that as a conservation effort, they have removed all of the books from the Long Room shelves!

    Stunning. Library restoration.
The Book of Kells exhibit was great. However even with timed tickets first thing in the morning the place was extremely over crowded. I had to take the provided audio tour because it was too crowded to read any of the exhibits. The Old Library was stunning. In October 2023 they were in the midst of a big restoration project and had removed most of the books but it was still quite a site nonetheless.

    An experience to be experienced
I studied medicine in Trinity and at the time never appreciated the value of the attractions on site. The tours and attractions available now are incredible and give an insight and understanding of so many aspects of the history of the site, and the history, art and mythology of Ireland that it's an experience that cant be explained, it's an experience to be experienced. When you see the books, the harp, the halls.. when you're in that space... you're walking through history... you are history Only complaint... over priced and crowds aren't limited enough to give you enough time to enjoy the time and space. So cherish each moment

    Good Exhibit
The exhibit you see before the actual book is very interesting and perhaps the best part of the visit. There is much to see about how books of that period are created and some history behind the book of Kells. With all the buildup preparing you to see some elaborate text and illustrations, the pages that the book was open to was underwelming. Others have told me that they have seen the colorful illustrations so maybe they change the view to different pages. The pages we saw looked more like an index with no illustrations. A little disappointing but the exhibit overall was good.
