This was truly the highlight of our trip to Cork. I can’t really add a great deal more to the wonderful reviews that have already been written, only to emphasise that this is a ‘must see’ visit. Nano Nagle was a truly remarkable person and Agnes (our ambassador) was so informative and kind to us on our tour that by the end of our visit we felt that we were all part of her family. The exhibits and displays were all first class and this museum fully deserves to be near the top of the rankings on Trip Advisor.

My husband and I went to the Nano Nangle centre on the last day of our annual leave. The whole experience was surreal. We were greeted by Paul who was very welcoming. The star of the show however was Agnes , our tour guide. Her passion and enthusiasm were contagious. We were completely humbled by the whole experience. Her knowledge and empathy was incredible. Her knowledge of Nano Nangle and the centre was incredible. We cannot recommend highly enough a visit to the centre.

Simply put - wonderful museum ! A hidden gem 💎, beautiful grounds, lots of history , fabulous museum. Restaurant, gift shop and fabulous staff. Met Ger at reception and wowed us with so many facts and information about Nano Nagle , a passion for history certainly evident and from all the friendly staff we met including Mary who also regaled us with lots of fabulous interesting things about the area and local history. 100% worth popping by and learning about a woman who was well ahead of her time to help those less fortunate get an opportunity to be educated during a tough time in Irish society. A fantastic visit !

Hard to describe this absolute gem in Cork City. Sitting in the grounds of an old convent its an oasis of peace and calm. Beautiful and tranquil garden … so peaceful and draws you to sit and contemplate. Wonderful cafe with the best coffee I’ve had in ages ( I’m usually a tea addict) and add in the warmth and welcome of really lovely people to make you feel part of something special. The museum well worth the time …the history of Sr Nano Nagel …an extraordinary woman…well with the effort of reading. Cork is one of my favourite cities to explore but if you only have time to visit one place then make it this!

The passion of the staff is very evident as you tour this museum. They are happy to talk and explain everything and are very well informed. It doesn't take that long but is well worth a visit and a reminder of difficult times and the power of an individual to make a difference.

Myself and my mother did the guided tour . We really enjoyed it ,the guide was really knowledgeable, interesting and good company. Any workers we met were pleasant and happy to be there. There are 2 gift shops with a nice selection of books and gift items, they can be accessed without doing the tour and we had a coffee in the café in the garden which has fab menu.

I had a great visit to this legacy of an amazing woman, Nano Nagle. I opted for a guided tour in the afternoon and it was wonderful. Bernard is a fantastic guide! The museum, shops, and garden are very nice too. Highly recommend taking the time to visit.

As a teacher coordinating an international project related to the city as a learning canvas, and visiting Ireland with a group of secondary education students, our stay in the lovely city of Cork had to include experiencing Nano Nagle Place, home to the heritage of Nano Nagle, pioneer and champion of education in an age where catholic girls didn't have a right to education. We contacted the museum beforehand and asked them to explain not only the place, but also how they design learning activities for kids in Cork, and they duly obliged in the best possible manner. If you are in Cork, I can only recommend paying a visit to Nano Nagle Place and leting yourself be insipired by the strength of a woman who definitely made a dent in the history of the city.

We arrived Saturday morning and did not know a reservation was required but they were happy to seat us. This was our first time here and boy it was amazing. The service was excellent and the setting was beautiful. We have one of the nicest lunches ever. I cannot wait to return.
